국문 초록

이슬람혁명에 대한 내외부로부터의 도전을 막고자 만들어진 IRGC는 시간이 지날수록 정치, 경제, 사회적으로 활동 범위를 확장하며 영향력을 키워나갔다. 그러나 (정권 안보 측면에서) 최고지도자를 중심으로 한 ‘정권’의 IRGC에 대한 의존과 지지는 IRGC의 영향력 확대로 이어져 이제 정권의 완전한 통제가 어려운 지경에 이르렀다. 결국 IRGC의 세력 확대는 정치, 경제, 사회적 측면에서의 ‘군사화’를 낳은 것이다. 국가의 군사화로 인한 피해는 온전히 국민에게 돌아간다. 그러나 신임 라이시 대통령을 비롯한 내각 인사들은 IRGC의 영향력에서 자유롭지 않은 인물들로, 이란은 더욱 깊은 군사화의 길로 갈 것으로 보인다. 그리고 이란의 군사화는 이들 IRGC로부터 승인되고 지지받는 지도자들의 정권 안보를 공고히 할 것이다. 즉, IRGC의 확장된 활동과 국가의 정치, 경제, 사회적 측면에서의 군사화는 이란 내외부의 강력한 위기 속에서도 정권을 생존케 하는 힘이 되고 있으며, 그렇기에 이 양상은 당분간 계속될 것으로 전망된다.

영문 초록

The IRGC, created to prevent internal and external challenges to the Islamic Revolution, has expanded its scope of activities politically, economically, and socially over time and has grown its influence. However, the regime s dependence on, and support for the IRGC led to the expansion of the IRGC s influence which has now become difficult to control. The influence held by the IRGC is now projected to protect its interests on its own and to militarize the nation itself, affecting not only the new president but also the appointment of the supreme leader. Outside the control of the government, the IRGC is believed to be trying to secure and militarize the country by taking aggressive military action, identifying its influence, and leading government policies in the way the military wants. The damage caused by the militarization of the country is entirely on the people. Nevertheless, the new president and supreme leader are expected to be made up of figures who are not free from IRGC influence, and Iran is expected to take a deeper path to militarization. The IRGC s expanded activities and militarization in the political, economic, and social aspects of the country are expected to continue for some time.
