소외계층 영재의 사회·정의적 특성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 소외계층 영재에 대한 이해를 높이고자 소외 영재·일반 영재·일반 학생간의 사회·정서적 특성을 비교하여 소외계층 영재의 사회·정서적 특성을 분석하였다. 소외 영재 43명, 일반 영재 99명, 일반 학생 112명 총 254명을 대상으로 자존감, 리더십, 자기결정동기, 성취동기, 사회적 지지를 조사하였다. 소외 영재는 자존감, 리더십, 성취동기, 사회적 지지에서 일반 영재와 동일하게 일반 학생보다 유의미하게 높았지만, 일반 영재보다는 점수가 낮았다. 자기결정동기에서 소외 영재는 부모나 교사의 기대에 따라 동기화되는 부과적 조절이 일반 영재, 일반 학생보다 높아 타인의 인정을 좇아 동기화되는 경향이 상대적으로 높았다. 부모 지지에서 소외 영재는 일반 영재와 동일하게 일반 학생보다 높아 부모의 심리적 지지와 영재교육에 대한 부모 교육의 중요성이 제기되었다. 교사 지지에서 소외 영재는 일반 학생보다 유의미하게 높지만, 일반 영재보다 유의미하게 낮았다. 내적 동기보다는 주변의 인정과 기대에 의한 동기성향이 높은 소외 영재를 위한 내적 동기 향상과 교사의 심리적 지지 제고방안으로 멘토링 프로그램과 교사 연수가 제안되었다.

영문 초록

This study explored social and emotional characteristics of economically disadvantaged gifted students and how they were different, compared with gifted and non-gifted students for improving their identification. Economically disadvantaged gifted students(n=43), gifted students(n=99), non-gifted students(n=112) participated in the assessments of self-esteem, leadership, self-determination, and social supports. The disadvantaged gifted students showed significant higher scores as the gifted students on self esteem, leadership and achievement goal orientation than the non-gifted students but their scores were lower than the gifted. Their higher introjected regulation than the other groups showed they were vulnerably activated by others’ praises or blames. They had a significantly higher parental support as the gifted but significantly lower teacher supports than the gifted. The importance of parent education and teacher supports for how to modify their extrinsic motivation to intrinsic one was discussed.
