영‧유아기 영성함양을 위한 기독교적 형성교육

국문 초록

20세기 후반부터 유럽과 북미를 중심으로 영성에 대한 관심이 고조되면서 영성을 학문적으로 재정립하려는 논의가 활발히 전개되고 있다. 기독교 전통에서 영성을 탐구해오던 기존의 영성신학은 영과 육, 이성과 감정, 성과 속, 삶의 사적영역과 공적영역이라는 경직된 이분법적 견해를 극복하지 못하였다는 지적과 함께 몇 가지 교리적 원칙을 기계적으로 삶에 적용하는 편협한 접근에 머물렀다는 비판을 불러일으켰다. 최근 다시 영성을 학문적으로 재정립하려는 연구에서는 영성을 보다 전인적이고 통전적으로 이해한다. 이러한 차이를 강조하며, 셀드레이크(P. Sheldrake)는 전통적인 영성에 대한 탐구를 ‘영성신학’이라 부르는 반면, 최근의 영성에 대한 학문적 연구를 ‘영성학’이라 명명하며 두 접근법을 구분 짓는다(Dreyer & Burrows, 2005). 기독교 영성은 창조자이고 궁극적 실재이신 하나님에 의해 주도되는 삼위일체 하나님에 대한 초월적 의식이며 관계적 연합의 의식이다. 기독교 영성형성교육은 성령의 인도하심에 따라 인간이 자기를 초월하여 하나님과 인격적 관계를 맺고, 역사가운데 계시된 예수그리스도의 인격을 닮아가며, 하나님의 부르심에 응답하여 신적 삶에 동참하도록 탄생부터 죽음까지의 전 생애 과정을 통해 이루어져야한다. 본 연구자는 영성학의 통합적 연구방법에 동의하면서, 뇌과학, 심리학, 신학과의 교차학제적 대화를 통해 영·유아기 초월적·관계적·정서적 경험의 특징과 영성 형성과정의 상관관계를 살펴보고 어린이 영성을 함양할 수 있는 기독교적 실천방안을 모색해보도록 하겠다.

영문 초록

Since late 20th century, study to revision spiritualty has been flourished in North America academic field. The spiritual theology in traditional context of Christianity has often been fragmented by dichotomy between spirit and body; reason and emotion; the sacred and the secure; and the private and the public area of life. Recently reformulated academic approach toward spirituality, namely, the study of spirituality attempts to explore spirituality in integrate and holistic manner by embracing whole aspects of human person and real life. Agreeing with holistic and integrate approach of the study of spirituality, this essay endeavors to comprehend features of relational, affective, and spiritual development of infants and children of early stage. In current study, we understand Christian spirituality as transcendent and relational consciousness in relation with triune God, that is initiated by work and grace of God. In order to assist a person to construct relational consciousness of personal God and to imitate the life of Jesus Christ revealed in history by responding to God s calling to participate in divine life, Christian formation and education of spirituality should be offered during the entire life time, from birth to death. Through interdisciplinary dialogue between brain science, psychology, and theology, this research examines how relational and affective experiences of children influence on formation of spirituality and suggests Christian way of facilitating spirituality in early childhood.
