국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 지속가능한 관광을 통한 섬다움의 가치를 극대화하기 위해 전남 신안군의 섬을 대상으로 섬관광 활성화 방안을 제언하고자 한다. 방법 연구방법은 전남관광재단에서 제공한 지역내 숙박업, 여행업 등을 수행하는 업체중에 주민이 직접 운영하는 업체 3개 업체를 선정하였으며, 전남관광 관련 학계 및 전문가집단 중 2명을 선정하여 인터뷰 방식으로 진행되었다. 결과 신안군 섬의 지속가능한 섬관광을 위해서는 첫째, 섬을 찾는 관광객이 원하는 휴식, 일상에서의 탈출, 신기성 등을 충족시켜주는 관광 콘텐츠를 개발하여야 한다. 둘째, 섬 자원의 재생을 통한 관광 하드웨어 구축으로 섬자원을 최대한 훼손시키지 않는 범위내에서의 관광산업 개발을 하여야 한다. 셋째, 섬 주민을 관광산업의 주체로 내세우되 지속가능한 관광산업을 위해 부족한 부분은 외부 전문가와의 지속적 소통 및 협업을 통해 역량을 강화함으로써 단기 프로젝트가 아닌 지속가능한 섬관광을 운영할 수 있도록 하여야 할 것이다. 넷째, 섬관광 사업에서 발생한 수익 일부를 지역 전통문화 개발사업에 환원하는 것이다. 마지막으로 지역의 자원을 훼손시키지 않으면서 섬 고유성을 살린 문화콘텐츠 복원을 통해 관광부가가치를 창출해야 한다. 결론 본 연구는 신안군 섬의 지속가능한 관광개발 및 운영을 위한 정책적 함의 및 실무적 시사점을 제시하고 있지만, 현장연구를 통해 실증분석을 하지 못했다는 한계가 있어 향후 연구는 실제사례에 접목하고 이에 따른 효과를 분석하여 본 연구에서 주장한 제안들의 타당성을 검증하려는 시도가 필요할 것이라 생각한다.

영문 초록

Purpose In order to maximize the value of islandness through sustainable tourism, this study proposed a plan to revitalize island tourism for Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do. Methods Study was conducted Three companies operated by residents were selected from the local lodging and travel business provided by the Jeollanam-do Tourism Organization, and two from the academic and expert groups related to Jeollanam-do tourism were selected and interviewed. Results First, tourism contents should be developed to satisfy the rest, escape from daily life, and novelty that tourists visiting the islands. Second, the development of the tourism industry should be carried out to the extent that it does not damage island resources as much as possible by building tourism hardware through the regeneration of island resources. Third, the islanders should be the main agents of the tourism industry, but the lack for the sustainable tourism industry should be strengthened through continuous communication and cooperation with external experts to operate sustainable island tourism. Fourth, some of the profits from the island tourism project are to be returned to the local traditional culture development project. Finally, tourism value should be created by restoring cultural contents that utilize island uniqueness without damaging local resources. Conclusion This study presents policy implications and practical implications for sustainable tourism development and operation of islands in Shinan-gun, but there is a limitation that empirical analysis has not been conducted through field
