촉각활동 중심 감각통합프로그램이 중도·중복장애 아동의 손 빠는 상동행동에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 중도ㆍ중복장애아동의 감각의 이상 또는 감각자극의 결함으로 나타나는 손빠는 상동행동을 표적행동으로 선정하고, 선정된 상동행동에 대하여 촉각적 자극을 중심으로 구성된 촉각활동 중심 감각통합 프로그램을 통해 상동행동을 개선하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 천안시에 위치한 특수학교 유치부에 재학 중인 아동으로 일상생활에서 지속적으로 손 빠는 상동행동을 보이고, 지체장애와 정신지체, 감각장애 등을 복합적으로 수반하여 일상생활에 전반적인 도움이 필요한 중도ㆍ중복장애아동이다. 촉각활동 중심 감각통합프로그램은 Aryes(1989)의 감각통합의 과정을 토대로 하여 촉각을자극할 수 있는 프로그램으로 구성하였으며, 상동행동의 행동 빈도수와 한 회기동안 관찰된평균지속 시간을 기록하기 위하여 대상자 간 중다기초선설계를 하였다. 기초선단계의 경우자유선택놀이 시간 25분을 정하되 최초 5분을 제외한 20분을 4회, 7회, 9회 관찰 측정하였으며 중재 단계는 대상 유아 모두에게 25회씩 이루어 졌고 촉각활동 중심 감각통합프로그램30분 중 도입 3분과 정리 7분을 제외한 20분을 주 5회씩 관찰하였다. 중재 효과를 알아보기위해 중재 종료 5일 뒤 10회, 7회, 5회로 측정하였다. 연구 결과 대상아 A, B, C의 손 빠는 상동행동의 빈도수와 지속시간은 기초선, 중재, 유지기간을 거쳐 전반적으로 감소함으로써 촉각활동 중심 감각통합 프로그램이 손 빠는 상동행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이상의 내용을 토대로 몇 가지 제언을하면 다양한 연령층의 유아를 대상으로 한 후속연구와 표적상동행동을 다양화하여 그 적용범위를 넓혀서 촉각활동을 통한 상동행동의 개선 효과에 대한 일반화 연구가 지속적으로 이루어 져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to select stereotyped behavior finger sucking as a target behavior by abnormal senses or defect of sense stimulation of Children with sever and multi disabilities and was to improve it through sensory integration program based on tactile activities constructed on the basis of tactile stimulation for selected stereotyped behavior. The subjects are children with severe and multi disabilities who need pervasive assistance for daily life with physical and multiple disabilities, mental retardation,and sensory disorder compositely. Also, continuously exhibit stereotyped behavior,such as finger sucking in their daily life enrolled in the kindergarten at a special school located in Cheonan-si. The sensory integration program based on tactile activities were composed of a program on the basis of the process of sensory integration by Aryes(1972). This program has 39 sessions for observation, 5 times a week for 20 minutes a session, by using multiple baseline design among subjects to record the frequency of stereotyped behavior and the average duration observed during one session. The findings show that the sensory integration program based on tactile activities is positively influenced by the frequency and the duration of stereotyped behavior, such as finger sucking of subject child A, B, and C were overall decreased across baseline, intervention, and the maintenance period of stereotyped behavior. Based on the content above, here are some suggestions. It should be to study the subject, children, in a variety of age groups and to examine the effects of the intervention at different places and it continually should be to generalize the study of tactile activities made to improve stereotyped behavior by extending the range of application to diversify a target stereotyped behavior.
