국문 초록

본 연구에서는 글로벌 시민 사회의 대두에 따른 시민성 개념의 성찰 연구를 토대로 미래형 교육을 위해 한국 사회에서 요구되는 민주시민교육 및 민주시민성의 개념, 민주시민성의 6대 지표와 세부 역량을 설정하였다. 나아가 학교 교육 수준의 교수·학습과 같은 구체적 상황에서 민주시민성 지표의 활용이 보다 용이할 수 있도록 6대 지표별 세부 역량에 대해 교육 목표 분류의 3대 영역(지식·이해, 가치·태도, 행동 및 사고 기능)으로 변환하여 제시하였다. 본 연구의 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미래형 교육에서 요구되는 민주시민성의 개념을 갱신하고 추가적인 역량을 도출하였다. 둘째, 민주시민교육의 현황과 실태에 대한 비교・분석 준거를 마련함으로써 향후 민주시민성 함양에 대한 개선 방안 모색이 용이하도록 하였다. 셋째, 민주시민성 함양 수준을 측정하기 위한 후속 연구의 기초를 마련하였다. 이러한 의의를 토대로 본 연구는 미래형 교육을 위한 학생들의 민주시민성 함양을 체계적・효율적으로 지원할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This study presented the six indicators and detailed competencies of the concept of democratic citizenship and democratic citizenship required in Korean society for future education. In order to make it easier to utilize democratic citizenship indicators in classroom, the detailed competencies converted into three areas of general educational goal classification (knowledge, understanding, value, attitude, behavior and thinking function). These were based on research on the concept of citizenship at the forefront of global civil society. The significance of this study is as follows. First, the concept of democratic citizenship required in future education was updated and additional competencies were derived. Second, the standards for comparison and analysis of the current status and actual conditions of democratic civic education were prepared. This will make it easier to find ways to improve future democratic citizenship. Third, the foundation of follow-up research was laid to measure the level of democratic citizenship cultivation. Based on this significance, this study is expected to systematically and efficiently support the development of democratic citizenship of students for future education.
