영문 초록

The purpose of this systematic review is to analyze the academic trends of domestic studies on the use of martial arts as adapted physical education and in exercise rehabilitation for the elderly and proposes the future study design to provide objective scientific evidence for the application of martial arts to community healthcare. A total of sixteen randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included in the analysis of the types of applied martial arts, participant characteristics, and the level of study quality, evaluated PEDro scale. As a result, 13 of 16 articles utilized tai chi exercise with the purpose of healthcare while those which utilized the domestic martial arts such as tae kwon do and taekkyon was 2 articles. Furthermore, the level of quality in all articles were evaluated in range of score 3 (Poor) to 7 (Good) and especially, 7 of 16 articles, given a score of 6 (Good) were in the majority. Lastly, all articles were lack of follow-up observation in the study design. In conclusion, therefore, the future studies will be necessary to add the follow-up to study design for the high-level evidence and utilize the domestic martial arts with the purpose of adapted physical education and in exercise rehabilitation.
