국문 초록

싱가포르의 복합리조트형 카지노 개발 사업의 성공과 함께 아시아의 여러 국가들은 복합리조트 개발을 통한 국가 관광산업 활성화 모델을 중요한 전략으로 인식하고 추진 중에 있으며 국가 간 경쟁 또한 치열해지고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 복합리조트 가 무엇인지 명확하지 않고 그 개념에 대한 연구가 충분하지 않다. 본 연구의 목적은 복합리조트형 카지노의 정의를 새롭게 규정하여, 관련 연구는 물론 공공영역에서 관련 제도 및 법령을 수립하는 데에 이론적으로 기여하고 산업영역에서는 보다 경쟁력 있는 전략과 시스템을 구축하는데 보탬이 되기 위함이다. 이러한 목표를 달성하기 위해, 본 연구에서는 세 가지 단계를 밟았다. 첫째, 선행연구를 검토함으로써 복합리조트의 정의를 구성하는 5가지 요소를 발견했다. 둘째, 5가지 요소를 분석함으로써 카지노 복합리조트의 조작적 정의를 만들었다. 셋째, 5가지 구성요소를 대표하는 리조트의 기준사례와 조작적 정의에 대한 전문가 의견조사를 실시하여 수렴 및 분석하여 복합리조트의 새로운 정의를 도출하였다. 그 결과 복합리조트형 카지노의 정의를 다음과 같이 제안하고자 한다. “복합리조트형 카지노란 국가관광산업 및 지역경제 활성화에 기여하기 위하여 카지노의 기대수익을 바탕으로 해당 법령에 부합한 대규모 관광산업 활성화 사업을 투자 및 개발하여, 게이밍 시설과 논게이밍 시설들이 유기적으로 운영되는 관광목적지 리조트를 말한다.”

영문 초록

Along with the success of Singapore’s Casino Integrated Resort projects, many countries in Asia see the potential of Casino Integrated development as an important tourism industry enhance strategy. Now it is fact that competition to develop successful Casino Integrated resort among countries are fierce. Despite of that, it is not clear what is “Casino Integrated Resort” and there are not enough researches have been done. The purpose of this study is Proposing a new definition of casino integrated resort and clarifying its concept to provide better understanding for public and better strategy & system for the government & industry. To achieve this goal, this study took three steps. First, by reviewing previous studies it found 5 elements which consist the definition. Second, by analyzing the 5 elements it created operational definition for Casino Integrated Resort. Third, collecting industry professional’s opinion by surveying questionnaires about controled examples of resorts which represent 5 elements of the definition and also about operational definition this study created. As a result, this study could propose new definition as below. “Casino Integrated resort is a tourist destination resort permitted for the purpose of enhancing nation’s tourism industry and local economy by investing and developing large scale of tourism project with financial projection of profit from casino which is satisfying the related law’s requirements and linkedly manage its non-gaming & gaming facilities.”
