국문 초록

본 연구에서는 필란트로피를 통한 대학생 세계시민교육 가능성에 대한 탐색적 접근을 실시했다. 필란트로피는 자선, 기부, 봉사, 나눔, 모금 등의 개념을 포괄하며, 인류애를 바탕으로 한공익, 공공선, 그리고 인류 사회가 당면한 문제의 원인 해결을 위한 적극적인 도전정신이자 자발적 행동이다. 필란트로피의 개념에 대한 이해 및 적용 사례, 필란트로피와 대학생의 세계시민교육과의 관계를 바탕으로 필란트로피를 통한 대학생의 세계시민교육 가능성을 논의했다. 대학생계층을 위한 세계시민교육 현황에 대한 선행연구를 통해 세계시민의식 함양이라는 측면에서 대학생 대상의 세계시민교육은 매우 중요하며 시급한 실정이라 분석되었다. 세계시민교육을 통해달성하고자 하는 세계시민성은 인류애를 바탕으로 사회의 문제에 실제 의지를 갖고 참여하는행동 역량까지 갖추는 목표를 추구하는바, 인류애를 바탕으로 인류가 당면하고 있는 다양한 문제를 해결한다는 필란트로피의 핵심개념과 세계시민교육은 연결될 수 있다. 대학생을 대상으로한 세계시민교육과 필란트로피와의 연계는 대학생의 세계시민성을 도모할 수 있는 가능성을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In this study, the exploratory research was conducted on the possibilities of global citizenship education for university students through philanthropy. Philanthropy encompasses the concepts of charity, donation, voluntary service, sharing, and fundraising, and philanthropy is an active challenging spirit and voluntary action to resolve the causes of problems facing human society and public good. Based on the understanding and application of the concept of philanthropy and the relationship between philanthropy and the global citizenship education of university students, the possibility of global citizenship education for university students through philanthropy was discussed. It was analyzed that the global citizenship education for university students was pricelessly crucial and urgent via precedent researches. The core notion of philanthropy is connected and related to the key point of global citizenship education that aims to have the competencies to participate in social issues with a strong will based on love for humanity. Therefore, philanthropy is able to contribute as a new education as well as possibilities to the global citizenship for the university students.
