일본계 브라질인의 일본 정주 문제와 사회적 자본

국문 초록

이 글은 1990년대 이후 일본계 브라질인들의 일본 정주화가 수반하는 일본 사회 부적응 현상을 사회적 자본에 초점을 맞춰 살펴보았다. 일본 사회는 사회적 자본 수준이 감소하는 경향을보이고 있으며, 일본계 브라질인들이 정주하는 지역의 사회적 자본 역시 현저히 낮은 수준에있다. 이 점은 다문화 공생사회 구축에 요구되는 신뢰, 규범, 이문화간 네트워크 형성이 원만하지않다는 것을 보여주는 것이며, 그 원인을 일본계 브라질인뿐만 아니라 일본인들의 물질적·비물질적 불안정에서 찾을 수 있다. 결론적으로 다문화 공생사회 구축을 위해서는 삶의 안정이 우선되어야 하고 이를 위해서는 직업의 안정성이 고려되어야만 한다. 왜냐하면, 직업의 안정성이 보장된 경제적 안정은 상호 반목과 갈등을 사전에 억제할 수 있다는 점에서 다양성이 공존하는 사회로의 발전을 가능하게 하기 때문이다.

영문 초록

This article analyzed from the perspective of social capital the phenomenon of Japanese Brazilians inflow into Japan since the 1990s and the consequent conflicts in Japanese society and ways to overcome them. Japan s social capital tends to decline, as suggested in the study of Japanese social capital. In particular, the social capital of the residential area of Japanese Brazilians is remarkably low. It shows that the establishment of trust, norms, and cross-cultural networks necessary to establish a multicultural symbiotic society is not smooth, and that the cause is material and non-material anxiety. Therefore, in order to realize a multicultural symbiotic society, stability of life must come first, and job stability must be considered for this. In particular, job stability is necessary not only for Japanese Brazilians but also for Japanese people. This is because economic stability can enable the development of a society where diversity coexists in that it can suppress mutual antagonism and conflict in advance.
