국문 초록

네덜란드의 철학자 스피노자(1632-1677)는 서구 지성사에서 신의 초월성과 내재성의 관계를 해명하는 데 매우 중요한 시사점을 던져주었다. 스피노자는 ‘신즉자연神卽自然’이란 명제를 제시하여 신은 우주만물의 내재적 존재근거이자 존재원인으로서 우주만물의 자연질서를 떠나 따로 존재할 수 없다고 강조하였다. 스피노자 이후 많은 현대 철학자와 신학자들은 신의 초월성과 내재성, 인격성과 비인격성의 관계를 어떻게 규명할 것인가에 대해 치열한 논쟁을 거듭하고 있다. 고려말 행촌杏村 이암李嵒(1297-1346)은 삼신일체론의 관점에서 신과 세계와 인간의 관계를 해명한다. 이암의 삼신일체 신관의 핵심은 ‘신시자연神是自然’이다. 이암은 삼신일체의 신을 ‘자연自然’의 역동적 존재로 규정하고, 우주만물의 존재근거인 도道와 우주만물의 원동력인 기氣와의 연관성 속에서 파악한다. 우리는 이암의 삼신일체의 신관을 ‘자연’과 도와 기를 중심으로 톺아봄으로써 서구의 현대신학이 고민하고 있는 신의 초월성과 내재성, 인격성과 비인격성의 관계를 새롭게 해명할 수 있는 새로운 단초를 얻으려고 한다. 여기에 우리가 이암의 삼신일체의 신관을 살펴보려는 그 이유가 있다.

영문 초록

Spinoza (1632-1677), the Dutch philosopher, proposed an important idea elucidating the relation between God’s transcendence and God’s immanence in the history of Western philosophy. Spinoza argued for the thesis, “Deus sive Natura” (God or Nature), thereby positing God or Nature as the immanent foundation and cause for the existence of the cosmos, which cannot exist separately from its natural order. Since Spinoza’s time, many philosophers and theologians have been engaged in a fierce debate over how to explain the relation between God’s transcendence and immanence, and between God as a personal being, versus an impersonal force. Haeng-chon Yi Am (1297-1346), during the end of the Korean Goryeo Dynasty, explained the relation between God, the world, and human beings from the perspective of the unity of the triadic god. The essence of this theological view is “Deus est Natura” (“God is Nature”). While defining the triadic deity as a dynamical existence, he expounds it from the interconnectedness of the Qi, the primordial force of the cosmos, and the Dao, the basis of existence for the cosmos. This paper intends to find a new way to elucidate the relation between God’s transcendence and immanence, and between God’s personality and impersonality, which is one of unsolved problems in modern Western theology, by studying the Yi Am’s theological view of the unity of the triadic god, which centers on the “Nature,” the Dao, and Qi. This is the main reason that this author has conducted a research on his theological thought.
