국문 초록

이 논문은 대학생들이 낙태에 대해 가지고 있는 인식과 태도를 질적 연구방법으로 의미를 밝히고자 하였다. 대학생 12명을 대상으로 심층면접을 통해 수집된 자료를 현상학적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 참여자들의 낙태에 대한 인식과 태도는 17개의 의미 있는 주제와 6개의 주제묶음으로 도출되었다. 6개의 주제묶음은 ‘해서는 안 되는 행위’, ‘어쩔 수 없는 선택’, ‘부모의 권리’, ‘태아의 지위’, ‘생명권 보호’, ‘젊은 세대의 성 윤리관 부재’로 파악되었다. 대학생들은 낙태에 반대하거나 수용하는 이유와 태도를 분명하게 가지고 있었다. 태아의 지위에 대한 불명확한 규정과 기준으로 낙태에 유보적인 태도를 취하였다. 젊은 세대들의 성윤리관이 부재하여 생명에 대한 올바른 가치관을 가지지 못한다는 인식을 하고 있었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 낙태 예방을 위한 방안으로 실효성 있는 성교육, 자녀양육지원을 위한 법과 제도의 정비, 사회적 인식 개선 노력을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This paper intended to clarify the meaning of college students perceptions and attitudes toward abortion through a qualitative research method. The data collected through in-depth interviews with 12 college students were analyzed by phenomenological research methods. As a result of the analysis, 17 meaningful themes and 6 theme clusters on the essential structure of the perceptions and attitudes toward abortion were driven. The 6 theme clusters are as following; ‘acts that should not be done’, ‘unavoidable choices’, ‘parents rights’, ‘fetal status’, ‘protection of the right to life’, and ‘absence of sexual ethics in the younger generation’. College students clearly had reasons and attitudes against or accepting abortion. Abortion was reserved due to unclear rules and standards regarding the status of the fetus. The lack of sexual ethics among the younger generation meant the absence of a right values for life. Based on the research results, effective sex education, reorganization laws and systems for child rearing support in general and for single mothers and single fathers, and efforts to improve social awareness of premarital pregnancy were suggested as measures to prevent abortion.
