Perception of Korean Speech-Language Pathologists on Telepractice Service

국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 비대면 원격 언어재활서비스는 통신 기술과 의사소통 기술을 접목시킨 건강 및 의료 서비스이다. 본 연구는 설문조사를 통해 비대면 원격 언어재활서비스에 대한 언어재활사의 인식에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 321명의 언어재활사가 연구에 참여하였다. 설문 문항으로는 응답자의 기본 정보, 비대면 원격 언어재활서비스 경험, 인식, 방향, 교육과 지원 요구에 대한 내용으로 구성하였다. 온라인으로 설문조사를 하였고, 분석은 기술통계와 카이제곱 검정을 이용하여 분석하였다. 결과: 비대면 원격 언어재활서비스 경험이 있는 치료사는 5.9%로 매우 소수였다. 언어치료 경력이 많은 응답자는 적은 응답자보다 비대면 원격치료가 대면치료와 동등한 서비스라는 의견에는 유의하게 부정적이었고, 비대면 원격치료 사용여부가 치료 대상자의 특성에 따라 결정된다는 의견에는 유의하게 긍정적이었다. 비대면 원격치료에 가장 적절한 대상으로 읽기장애와 유창성장애가, 가장 적절하지 않은 대상으로 삼킴장애와 청각장애가 거론되었다. 비대면 원격치료를 위해 가장 고려해야 할 사항으로 대상자의 인지 및 행동 특성을 꼽았다. 비대면 원격 언어재활서비스에 대한 교육참가 의지는 연령, 학력, 경력에 상관없이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 비대면 원격 언어재활서비스에 대한 언어재활사의 인식을 개선시키고, 새로운 시스템 구축에 필요한 실질적인 정보와 방향성을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives: Telepractice is the application of telecommunication technologies in health and medical services. This survey study focused on Korean Speech-Language Pathologists’ (K-SLPs) perception of telepractice service. Methods: 321 K-SLPs participated in this survey. The survey consisted of the respondents’ basic information, and their experiences, perception, future direction and needs regarding telepractice, the survey data were analyzed using descriptives statistics and chi-squared tests. Results: Only 19 of the respondents used telepractice. Most of them were willing to participate education programs. Respondents with more clinical experience were more likely to think that telepractice is not equivalent to traditional therapy. And they also tended to think that the use of telepractice depends on the characteristics of clients. Respondents felt that reading and fluency disorders were the most appropriate subjects, and swallowing disorder and hearing impairment were the least appropriate for telepractice. The subject’s cognitive and behavioral characteristics were selected as the most important consideration for telepractice. Conclusion: This study will improve the perception of K-SLPs regrading telepractice, and provide practical information and directions necessary for building a new system.
