메가이벤트에 참여하는 자원봉사자의 자원봉사활동 지속의지에 관한 영향요인 연구

국문 초록

새로운 영역과 의제까지의 확장되며 변화하고 있는 자원봉사활동의 패러다임 속 에서도 그 희소성 및 상징성 측면에서 여전히 주목받고 있는 것 중 하나가 올림픽, 전국체육대회와 같은 메가이벤트(mega-event) 자원봉사이다. 본 연구는 메가이벤트 자원봉사에 참여하는 자원봉사자들을 대상으로 메가이벤트가 진행되기 이전 준비과정에서 참여동기와 관리(교육훈련)가 자원봉사활동의 지속의지에 한 영향력을 갖는지 실증적으로 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 서울시자원봉사센터에서 ‘제 100회 전국체육대회 및 제39회 전국장애인체육대회’ 준비과정에서 실시한 자원봉사자 설문조사 데이터를 활용하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 참여동기 중 이타적 동기와 이기적 동기는 자원봉사활동의 지속의지와 정적인 방향에서 유의미한 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 메가이벤트 진행과정 상의 관리(교육훈련) 중 사전교육 이해만족은 자원봉사 지속의지와 정적인 방향에서 유의미한 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 메가이벤트 자원봉사에 참여하는 자원봉사자들을 대상으로 참여동기의 관점에서 보다 세심한 이해와 접근이 필요하다는 점, 이와 함께 메가이벤트 준비과정 상에서 관리(교육훈련)의 노력이 참여하는 자원봉사자들의 지속의지를 제고시킬 수 있다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구가 제시하는 결과는 메가이벤트 자원봉사에 참여하는 자원봉사자에 대한 새로운 지식과 이해를 제공하고 이와 더불어 이들의 자원봉사활동 지속의지 제고에 있어 필요한 새로운 지식기반을 제공한다는 점에서 이론적 함의를 갖는다. 또한 자원봉사활동의 활성화를 통한 나눔문화 확산을 위해 메가이벤트 자원봉사의 준비과정을 어떻게 운영해 나가야 하는지에 대한 실천적 지식을 제공한다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

In a paradigm shift in volunteering covering new areas and agendas, the thing to note is Mega-event volunteering, such as the Olympics and the National Sports Festival. This study aims to empirically verify volunteers in Mega-event how motivation and management (training) impact the continuance will consist of Mega-event volunteering in the preparation process before the Mega Event is held. For the analysis, the Data of ‘the survey of volunteers in the 100th National Sports Festival and the 39th National Sports Festival for the Disabled’ was conducted by the Seoul Volunteer Center to prepare the event. According to the analysis results, first, altruistic motivation and selfish motivation among the factor of volunteering motivation affect the continuance will consist of Mega-event volunteering positively. Second, the understanding of pre-education among management (training) in the mega-event process was found to have a positive effect on the continuance will of Mega-event volunteering. These results suggest that volunteers in Mega-event’s volunteer need more careful understanding and approach from the perspective of motivation for participation, along with enhancing the continuance will of volunteers to participate in management (training) efforts in the Mega-event preparation process. This study’s results have theoretical implications in that it provides new knowledge and understanding about volunteers in the Mega-event, and the new knowledge base needed to enhance their continuance will consist of volunteering. It is also meaningful in that it provides practical knowledge on how to operate the preparation process for Mega-event volunteering to spread the philanthropic culture through the activation of volunteer activities.
