국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 투자의 결정요인에 대한 실증분석을 통하여 국내 투자 부진의 원인 규명을 시도하였다. 실증분석을 위하여 Gilchrist and Zakrajsek(2007)을 기초로 투자함수를 자본의 한계생산성과 사용자비용 함수로 설정하고 국내 합계 데이터와 산업별 데이터를 활용하여 투자함수 식을 추정하였다. 추정된 실증분석 결과를 바탕으로 투자의 결정요인별 투자변화에 대한 기여도를 분해하였다. 다양한 방법론을 통한 추정결과에 따르면 국내 자본의 한계생산성과 사용자비용이 1%증가할 때, 설비투자율은 각각 0.05%p 증가와 0.02%p 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 실증분석 결과에 따르면, 투자 부진을해소하기 위하여 자본의 한계생산성을 증진시키는 것이 가장 우선으로 고려되어야 한다. 또한, 실증분석 결과에 따르면사용자비용의 구성요인 중 최근 높아진 기업의 비용 부담을 낮추기 위한 금리 완화와 법인세 완화가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 실증분석 결과는 최근 정책적 관심이 높은 투자 부분에 대한 정량적 분석을 위한 기초를 제공하는데 그의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study empirically analyzes the determinants of domestic investment to investigate the cause of sluggish domestic investment. Based on Gilchrist and Zakrajsek (2007), we set the investment function as the marginal productivity of capital and the user cost and estimate it using aggregate and industry-level data. Estimates with various methodologies show that when marginal productivity and user costs of domestic capital increase by one percent, investment rates increase by 0.05 percentage points and decrease by 0.02 percentage points respectively. According to the results of the empirical analysis, promoting the marginal productivity of capital to address sluggish investment should be considered a prioiry. In addition, the analysis shows that among the components of user costs, lower interest rates and corporate tax relief are needed to lower the cost burden on companies for which it has recently increased. The findings are meaningful in providing a basis for quantitative analysis of investment, a subject of great interest in policy circles in recent years.
