국문 초록

加耶를 중심으로 한 嶺南地域의 馬는 현재까지 동북아시아에서 출토된 21점 중 16점이 집중되어 있고 각 형식의 출현과 변화상을 비교적 상세하게 반영해 주고 있어서 당시 이곳의 사회적 性格과 文化相을 대변하는 중요한 유물이다. 馬는 얼굴덮개部 上板의 분할 여부에 따라 2분할된 A類와 未분할된 B類로 크게 나누어지며 前者가 中國 東北地域의 馬 및 陶俑을 통해 이곳에, 後者는 高句麗에 그 系譜가 있는 것으로 파악하였다. 즉 4世紀代는 中國 東北地域 馬具의 파급에 편승하여 上板 분할 방식에 속하는 馬가 낙동강하류역에 전해지고, 이로부터 上板 2분할의 A類 馬가 加耶 각지에서 在地化되는 반면 B類 馬는 高句麗南征을 계기로 新羅를 통해 嶺南地域에 파급된다는 것이다. 本稿에서는 우선, 새로이 알려진 馬를 검토하여 기존에 필자가 행한 분류를 보완코자 하였다. 또한 최근 嶺南地域의 馬가 모두 高句麗에서 파급되었다는 주장이 제기되고 있는 바, 기존의 馬와 새로 추가된 馬를 종합하여 그 형식과 특징을 새로 추출해 보았다. 그 결과 A類 馬가 高句麗로부터 이입된 것으로 간주할 만한 근거를 찾을 수 없었으며 오히려 추가된 자료를 통해 기존의 분류를 일부 보완, 보다 더 강조할 필요가 있음을 다시 언급하였다.

영문 초록

16 pieces of horsehelmets out of 21 of them excavated in northeast Asia are centered in Youngnam province, especially in Gaya. They reflect the appearance and the change of each form quite specifically so they are important relics representing social character and culture in this area. They are generally classified in two types on the basis of separation of upper portion of the face-covering part. One, the A type, is separated in two parts and the other, the B type, is not separated. The former has its lineage here through the horsehelmet and Do-yong(陶俑) in northeast part of China and the latter has its in Goguryeo. In other words, in 4th century, A type of horsehelmet had been localized in every part of Gaya by the impact of dissemination of horsehelmet in northeast part of China while B type had been spread throughout Silla upon the opportunity of attacking Goguryeo.In this paper, I tried to complement the classification that I have executed after investigating newly-introduced horsehelmets. Being concerned about the assertion that all the horsehelmets in Youngnam province were influenced by Goguryeo, I extracted the form and characteristics after combining existing horsehelmets and newly-found ones. In result, I would conclude that there is no evidence showing that A type of horsehelmet had come from Goguryeo and mention that we need to complement and put emphasis on the existing classification on the basis of newly-added materials.
