영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to classify latent profiles of children’s life satisfaction domains using Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) and to analyze those differences in individual, family and school related characteristics. Using the 2018 Child Comprehensive Survey data of 2,504 children aged 9-17, it conducted LPA, cross-tabulations and mean comparisons. The results indicate that there are five types of profiles with different levels of domain satisfaction, which are named as ‘the highest satisfaction group’, ‘mid-high satisfaction group’, ‘mid satisfaction group’, ‘mid-low satisfaction group’ and ‘the lowest satisfaction group’. As characteristics of five groups are compared, it is found that the higher the group’s satisfaction levels are, the percentages of younger children, children with higher self-esteem, higher family incomes and higher perceived level of academic performance increase. As the group’s satisfaction level lowers, the percentages of children with single-parent/kinship care, those residing in small and medium-sized cities, those under government welfare benefit, and victimized of parent-abuse increase. In order to increase the domain satisfaction levels of children, the priority of support services should be on the most vulnerable group, which is the lowest satisfaction group.
