국문 초록

코로나19 팬데믹의 세계적 영향은 다양한 측면에서 인간의 삶을 재편했으며, 예측할 수 없는 위기와 사회적 변화를 야기했다. 본 논문은 코로나19 팬데믹 경험이 도서 지역 재난 약자인 결혼이주여성과 가족에 미친 변화양상을 탐색적으로 분석한 것이다. 의료 및 복지가 취약한 도서 지역에서 팬데믹을 경험한 방식과 그 이후 가족관계의 변화와 지속성을 조명한다. 특히 이들 결혼이주여성을 포함한 다문화가정은 대표적인 재난 약자이기에 코로나로 인해 가족생활에 미친 영향이 컸다. 그러나 재난 약자인 이들이 코로나를 극복하고 가족관계를 유지하기 위한 나름의 적응전략을 펼쳐나갔음을 알 수 있었다. 연구 결과, 미묘한 차별 경험에 따른자발적 고립을 선택하기도 하지만, 상호 인정과 사회적 지지 확보를 통해 자신의 정체성을 찾아가고, 진정한 환대를 통해 공동체를 회복해나가고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 논문은 심층 면접 연구 방법을 활용하여 8명의 결혼이주여성에게 수집한 구술 자료를기초로 작성되었다. 연구참여자들은 지리적ㆍ사회적으로 고립된 도서지역에서 코로나시기의혐오와 차별, 편견과 갈등을 참아내며 재난을 극복할 수 있었던 이유로 가족의 존재를 꼽았다. 재난 기간에 결혼이주여성을 바라보는 양가성이 두드러졌으며 가족관계는 신뢰와 불신, 돌봄과 배제 등이 중첩되기도 했으나, 다행히 상호 인정과 환대를 통해 가족 회복력이 강화되고 공동체가 회복되어감을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

The global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped human life in various aspects, causing unforeseeable crises and social changes. This paper explores the patterns of change brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic experience on marriage migrant women and their families, who are vulnerable to disasters in island regions. It sheds light on how the pandemic was experienced in medically and socially vulnerable island regions and the subsequent changes and sustainability of family relationships. Particularly, multicultural families, including these marriage migrant women, were significantly affected in their family life due to the combination of COVID-19 and geographical/social isolation. However, it was observed that these vulnerable groups deployed their own adaptive strategies to overcome COVID-19 and maintain family relationships. The research findings confirm that through experiences of microaggression, voluntary isolation, securing mutual recognition and social support, and genuine hospitality, communities are gradually recovering. This paper is based on qualitative data collected through in-depth interviews with eight marriage migrant women. Participants pointed to the presence of family as a reason they were able to overcome the hatred, discrimination, prejudice, and conflicts during the disaster period. During the disaster period, ambivalence towards marriage migrant women was pronounced, and family relationships were characterized by a duality of trust and mistrust, care and exclusion overlapping. However, fortunately, through mutual recognition and hospitality, family resilience was strengthened, and the community began to recover.
