국문 초록

본 연구는 종합병원 간호사들의 환자안전문화 인식 정도와 환자안전문화에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악함으로써 환자의 안전을 증진 시킬 수 있는 환자안전문화 정착을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 궁극적으로는 간호사의 환자안전 증진을 위한 환자안전문화 정책의 발전방향을 제시하기 위해 노력하였다. 주요 실증분석 결과를 통한 환자안전문화 정착을 위한 발전방안은 다음의 두 가지 차원에서 논의하였다. 우선, 병원의 환자안전문화 정착을 위한 제도적 개선방안으로 첫째, 경영자의 환자안전문화에 대한 투자유인 방안 강구를 제안하였다. 둘째, 환자안전 및 안전관리 교육・훈련 강화 방안으로서 체계화된 프로그램의 상시 운영필요성을 제시하였다. 셋째, 환자안전문화 및 안전의식 수준의 성과측정 및 평가를 위한 시스템 도입이 요구된다. 넷째, 병원 내에 환자안전문화의 정착을 위하여 병원 시설에 대한 환자안전관리 경영시스템 인증제 도입 및 활성화 필요성을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the nurses’ perception of patient safety culture and factors influencing on their patient safety culture in general hospitals and to utilize the results as basic materials for settling the patient safety culture and enhancing patients’ safety. The results of analyses for testing hypotheses are as follows; First, as to nurses’ awareness of the importance of patient safety culture according to demographic factors, most of the subjects showed a positive position, and there was no significant difference among the groups. Second, in the results of analyzing the relation between hospital (ward) work environment and nurses’ awareness of the importance of patient safety culture, positive correlations were observed with the management’s safety consciousness, sufficiency in nursing personnel, atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation, efforts to improve patient safety, efforts to induce positive changes, fear of reporting mistakes, no omission of efforts in patient safety, no abnormality in patient safety activities, and improvement in mistake prevention procedures and systems. Third, when the correlation with the immediate superior’s and managers’ safety consciousness, nurses’ awareness of the importance of patient safety culture was in a significant positive correlation with the immediate superior’s safety consciousness, managers’ safety consciousness, and the immediate superior’s efforts to secure patient safety. On the contrary, it was in a negative correlation with the perception of the immediate superior’s safety negligence. Finally, in the analysis of correlation with the perception of communication, nurses’ awareness of the importance of patient safety culture was in a significant positive correlation with communication‐related factors such as exchange of opinions on mistakes, statement of opinions on wrong treatments, exchange of opinions wit patients, discussion on how to prevent the recurrence of mistakes, and vertical flow of communication over ward problems.
