국문 초록

처음 타락 이후로 남성과 여성의 사이의 문제는 끊이질 않았다. 그러나 그 타락도 처음 하나님이 의도하셨던 남녀의 본질은 파괴하지 못했다. 하나님은 당신의 형상을 따라 사람을 창조하시되 남자와 여자를 창조하셨다(창 1:27). 남녀의 본질은하나님의 형상에 담겨져 있다. 남녀 관계의 문제는 본질을 떠나서 다만 사회적으로, 역사적으로, 혹은 관계적으로 접근해서는 해결할 수 없다. 한편 하나님의 형상에 담겨져 있는 본질을 살펴볼 때 자칫 인간 전통에서 고착화된 남녀 본질이 하나님의 형상이 담고 있는 본질의 전부인양 해석될 수 있다. 아담과 하와가 입은 하나님의 형상은 종말론적으로 그리스도에서 성취되도록 되어 있었다. 우리가 흙에 속한 아담의 형상을 입은 것같이 또한 하늘에 속한 그리스도의 형상을 입을 것이다. 따라서, 우리는 하나님의 형상의 의미를 이해함에 있어서 본질주의적으로 혹은관계주의적으로만 접근할 것이 아니라 두 가지를 잘 조화하고 이에 덧붙여 그리스도 안에서 종말론적으로 접근해야 할 것이다. 그래서 동일한 존재가 아니지만 동등한 존재인 남자와 여자는 각자 주어진 은사와 사명에 따라 창조질서를 지키고 그리스도 안에서 새로운 피조물이 된 남자와 여자로서 함께 복음 사명을 다하며 하나님나라를 선포해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Since the Fall, the relationship between man and woman has been full of never-ending problems. Yet the Fall couldn t destroy the substances of man and woman into which God intended to instill when He first created them. “God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them”(Gen. 1:27). The substances of man and woman were instilled in the image of God. The problems in the relation between man and woman can t be solved as long as we deal with them only in sociological, historical or relational aspects. On the other hand, when we examine the substances of man and woman, we should be aware that the presumed substances which have been tradition- ally formed are not all that we could find in the image of God. The image of God in Adam and Eve was eschatologically destined to be like Christ. And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, Adam, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven, who is Christ. Thus we might not ap- proach either substantially or relationally only, but both. Not only that, we need to eschatologically approach in order to understand the meaning of the image of God in a truer sense. As equal beings, not as same beings, man and woman, who have become the new creation in Christ, might preach the king- dom of God with the evangelistic passion together.
