국문 초록

이 논문은 중국식 국가자본주의의 틀 속에서 중국 도시 불평등의 확대 원인을 설명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 분석결과 국유부문은 상대적으로 자본이 풍부하고 자본집약재 생산에 비교우위가 있다. 반면 민간부문은 상대적으로 노동이 풍부하고 노동집약재 생산에 비교우위가 있다. 따라서 스톨퍼-사무엘슨 정리에 따르면 국유부문과 민간부문의 자본-노동 수익률 비율이 수렴하고 소득 불평등이 완화되어야 한다. 이 논문의 분석결과 중국은 당-국가체제하에서 과도하게 국유부문으로 자본이 배분되었고, 국유부문은 과도한 자본-노동 비율에도 불구하고 국유부문에 적용된 낮은 이자율과 같은 특혜로 인해 상대적으로 높은 자본수익률을 유지할 수 있었다. 그 결과 국유부문의 자본소득 비중이 높아져 도시 불평등이 악화 되었다는 것이 이 논문의 주장이다.

영문 초록

The main objective of this paper is to analyze the implications of Chinese style state capitalism and its effects on the urban income distribution in China. We devide the China s urban sector into the state and private sectors. The state sector is relatively capital abundant and has a comparative advantage in producing the capital-intensive goods. The private sector is relatively labor abundant and has a comparative advantage in producing the labor-intensive goods. According to the Stolper-Samuelson theorem, the ratio of the return to capital and wage in the state and private sectors will be converged and thus urban income inequality in China will also be decreased. However. urban income inequality in China has been widened. We show that increase in the urban income inequality in China is related to rise in capital income in the state sector due to the increases in the relative capital intensity and the return to capital in the state sector. We argue that the Chinese style party-state system emphasizing the capital-intensive state sector resulted in the non-harmonious society.
