국문 초록

중국 내 한국학 연구는 여러 변화과정을 거쳐왔다. 한국학 교육의 시작은 1946년 남경의 국립 동방언어전문대학에서 시작되었으며, 한중 수교를 기점으로 수요가 폭발적으로 증가하여 현재는 약 200여 개의 대학교와 전문대학에서 한국학을 가르치고 있다. 한국학은 1980년대 이전에만 해도 남한 중심이 아닌 북한 중심의 조선학(朝鮮學)이 주류를 이루고 있었다. 대립국이면서 경제발전도도 낮은 남한이 아닌 경제적, 정치적으로 더 가까운 우방국 북한을 중심으로 한국학 연구가 이루어진 것은 지극히 당연한 현상이었다. 1980년부터 중국은 기존의 공산주의 이데올로기 강조성향을 벗어던지고 개혁개방 정책으로 노선을 바꾸기 시작하였다. 이 시기부터 중국 정부는 경제 건설에 중점을 두어 세계 각국과의 교류를 활발하게 진행하면서 국제 지역학에 관한 관심 또한 활발하게 진행되었다. 동시에 한국의 경제력과 국제위상도 1980년대 들어서면서 급속도로 오르게 되는데 이러한 상황이 맞물리면서 중국 내 한국학 연구가 보다 활성화되었다. 이러한 ‘관심’은 다른 나라를 대상으로 한 지역학 연구에서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 경제적이든 정치적이든 문화적이든 특정 요소의 ‘관심’이 있어야만 지역학 연구가 활성화되기 때문이다. 한국은 경제적 요소, ‘한류’를 중심으로 한 문화적 요소, 재중 유학생 중 한국 유학생이 가장 많은 교육적 요소 등 다양한 요소에서 한국학에 대한 ‘관심’을 충족시키고 있다. 본 논문에서는 중국 내에서의 한국학 연구의 상황을 검토하고 앞으로의 동향과 전망에대해 ‘관심’을 중심으로 제시하고자 한다. 이는 중국 학계에서의 한국학 연구 변화를 정리하여 한국학 연구의 미래 발전 방향을 가늠하는데 의의가 있다. 한국과 중국의 교류가 지속해서 이루어지고 있는 상황에서 중국 내에서의 한국학 연구 변화와 현재 동향 그리고 미래를 전망하는 것은 양국에서의 한국학 발전에 의미 있는 연구가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

Studies in Korean studies in China have undergone many changes. The very beginning of Korean Studies education began in 1946 at the National Oriental Language College in Nanjing. And since the Korea-China Diplomatic Relations, demand of the education has increased explosively that now it is taught at about 200 universities and colleges. Before 1980s, Korean studies was mainly centered on North Korea’s Joseon studies rather than South. It was a very natural to focus more on North Korea since North had better economic growth of the time and was a very friendly political-ally. But since 1980, China begun to change its path to reform and opened their country, throwing away the old policy to emphasize the existing communist ideology. Since then, as Chinese government fiercely reach out for international relations to construct the economy, strong interest on International-Regional studies grew fast, and for the time, South Korea’s economic power and the International status have rapidly risen that all suited along to grow Korean studies on South. This kind of ‘interest’ is always important in Regional studies on other countries. Whether the interest is on economic, political, or cultural, there has to be an ‘interest’ in specific elements to push and broaden the study. As for South Korea, this interest covers various factors such as the economy, the culture - which mainly focuses on Korean-Wave , and the education - mostly among the Chinese students who studies on the very country. In the paper, the present of Korean studies in China is reviewed and elaborated for the future trends by focusing on ‘interest’. It is meaningful to summarize detailed changes in Korean studies field in Chinese academia, and to draw out the future development of this area. As exchange between Korea and China continues, this research will be of value to both countries, that it contains trends of study interest from past until today and predicts the next.
