노인 자살의도 영향 요인

국문 초록

노인 자살의도는 매우 복합적인 요인들의 상호작용 영향을 받는다. 이러한 문제 의식에서 출발한 본 연구는 인구사회학적 요인에 따라 자살의도가 차이가 있는지, 촉진요인인 우울, 음주횟수, 만성질환 투병(투약) 기간, 억제요인인 자아존중감, 사회적 관계만족도, 가족관계만족도가 자살의도에 미치는 영향을 종합적으로 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 한국복지패널(KOWEPS) 2017년도 12차 머지데이터를 이용하여 65세 이상 가구원 4,956명의 표본 데이터를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 본 연구에서의 자료처리는 SPSS 19.0 통계패키지를 이용하여 상관분석과 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본연구결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 여성노인보다 남성노인이, 우울수준이 높을수록 만성질환 투병기간의 길수록, 종교가 없는 집단이, 연소노인보다 고령노인이, 자아존중감이 낮고 가족관계나 사회적 관계만족도가 낮은 집단의 자살의도가 높았다. 둘째, 자살의도와 가장 큰 상관관계를 갖는 변수는 우울이었으며, 우울에 영향을 주는 변수 중 자아존중감이 가장 높은 관련성을 보였다. 셋째, 고령노인과 연소노인의 차이를 요약해 보면 고령노인일수록 우울이 높고, 만성질환 투병기간이 길었으며 자살의도가 높은 반면, 자아존중감, 사회적 관계만족도, 가족관계만족도, 음주횟수가 낮았다. 이러한 결과를 근거로 노인 자살의도를 줄일 수 있는 다양한 방안을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of demographic factors, depression, frequency of drinking, duration of illness, self-esteem, social relation satisfaction, family relationship satisfaction on suicidal ideation. This study used sample data of 4,956 household members over 65 years old for the final analysis using the 12th merged data from KOWEPS 2017. In this study, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 19.0 statistical package. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the older men, the higher the level of depression, the longer the duration of chronic disease, the older the group without religion, the older, the group with low self-esteem and low family relationship and social relation satisfaction were higher the suicidal ideation. Second, depression had the highest correlation with the old-old, and self-esteem was the most significant variable affecting depression. Third, in the difference between the old-old and young-old, the old-old was higher in depression, longer in chronic disease, and higher in suicidal ideation, but lower in self-esteem, social relationship satisfaction, family relationship satisfaction, and frequency of drinking. Based on these results, various measures to reduce the suicidal ideation of the old were discussed.
