교양(기초)교육으로서의 논리학 및 과학기술철학의 현황과 그 확대 방안

국문 초록

논리학이 인간의 사고와 지식 체계 구성에 있어 핵심이므로 교양 또는 학문의 기초로서 교과과정에서 필수가 되어야 한다는 것과 형식 과학으로서의 논리학에 내용 과학으로서의 과학기술철학이 이차적 과목으로서 함께 개설될 때 형식과 내용의 양 측면에서 충실성을 갖게 되어 대학에서의 교양 또는 기초 교육이 실효성을 갖게 될 것이라는 주장이 개진될 것이다. 논리학(논리와 사고, 비판적 사고, 창의적 사고 논증과 비판 등)은 과학의 보편적인 탐구 방법론이며, 과학기술철학은 내용을 담아 철학하는 방법 내지 내용 학문이다. 이 두 교과목은 과학기술 시대인 지식기반사회 또는 지식정보화 사회에서 소비자(수요) 중심의 교과과정 편성이나 지식/학문 중심 교과과정에 있어서 중핵에 해당한다. 그렇지만 각 대학의 현실에서 논리학이나 과학기술철학이 필수로 되어 있는 학교가 거의 없으며, 있더라도 선택 교과로 개설되어 있다. 결론적인 제안으로서 논자는 논리학과 과학기술철학이 교양과목이라고 무시되어서도 안 되며, 교양의 개념에 몰이해에 대해 인식이 바르게 정립된다면, 그리고 교양과정위원회에 논리학자/과학철학자가 위원으로 선임되어 제대로 교과과정이 운영된다면 논리학과 과학기술철학이 교양과목 또는 기초과목으로 확대되어 개설될 수 있을 가능성을 주장한다. 또한 양 과목이 대학교양과목으로서 필수화 내지 확대되기 위해서 논자는 그 과목들이 졸업인증과목들에 포함될 것과 논리적 사고력 시험을 제도화할 것을 주장한다.

영문 초록

In this article, I will argue that logic is the core in human thinking and constructing knowledge systems and it must be a compulsory subject as a general education or a basic of sciences, human or social or natural, in college curricula. And I will also argue that when in addition to logic as a formal science philosophy of science-technology is set up both subjects really become so substantial in the forms and their contents that the general or basic capacity education will have efficacy and effectiveness in universities. The subject Logic(Logic and Thinking, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Arguments and Criticism and so on) is the universal methodology of sciences. And The subject Philosophy of Science-Technology is the method of philosophying their contents or the contents-tropical discipline. Both disciplines are the central core in consumer-centered curricula or knowledge/science-centered curricula in the comtemporary science-technological age of the so called knowledge-based society or knowledge-and-information society. Although that is very fire-clear, Logic or Philosophy of Science and Technology is not installed as compulsory subjects at most of colleges and universities in Korea, and if any, as selective subjects nowadays. I eventually argue that Logic and Philosophy of Science-Technology should not be ignored as general educations. And I also argue that by recognizing the right concepts about general education and by implementing the general education curricula in accordance with the regulations which a logician or a philosopher of science suggests at the council of general education Logic and/or Philosophy of Science-Technology will be installed increasingly as a compulsory or a selective in colleges and universities. And I argue that for the purpose of those enlargement of installing Logic and/or Philosophy of Science- Technology both should be included into graduation certificate requirements and that we must make the institution of Test of Logical Thinking.
