부모의 신체활동이 여성 청소년의 신체활동에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 여성 청소년들의 신체활동이 남성 청소년 집단보다 낮은 수준임을 지적하면서 어떤 인구사회학적인 요인들이 여성 청소년 집단의 신체활동에 영향을 미치는지 확인하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 국가승인통계인 통계청 생활시간조사(2014) 자료를 실증분석해서 다음과 같은 세가지 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 첫째, 여성 청소년의 신체활동은 부모의 신체활동, 특히 어머니의 신체활동이 증가할수록 커지는 경향이 있었다. 둘째, 또래 집단과 함께 어울릴수록, 그리고 부모와 함께 어울릴수록 여성 청소년의 신체활동은 증가하는 경향이 있었다. 셋째, 가구소득 및 어머니의 소득기여도는 여성 청소년의 신체활동에 직접 영향을 미치지는 않았다. 하지만 가구소득과 어머니의 소득기여도는 어머니의 신체활동에 직접 영향을 미쳤다. 따라서 가구소득과 어머니의 소득기여도는 어머니의 신체활동을 거쳐 간접적으로 여성 청소년의 신체활동에 영향을 미친다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 이론적 함의는 신체활동이 가장 저조한 인구집단인 여성 청소년의 신체활동을 결정짓는 요인들을 개인 수준이 아닌 부모와 또래 집단 즉 사회적 관계 수준에서 찾아보았다는데 있다. 실천적 함의로는 향후 건강행위를 유도하기 위한 정책에 부모의 신체활동을 늘릴 수 있는 방안이 포함되어야 할 필요성을 언급하였다는 점에서 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

This article shows that Sout Korean female adolescence physical activity is too low to be healthy. Then, the research purpose is searching what factors have effects on female adolescence physical activities. According to the results of KTUS data analysis, there are three interesting information. First of all, parent physical activity has positive relationship with their daughter physical activity. Second, peer group effect and parent-their children effect increase female teenager physical activity. Third, household income level does not have relationship with female adolescence physical activity, but their is positive association between household income and mother physical activity. To sum up, there is not direct relationship between household income level and female adolescence physical activity, but there is indirect relationship between them. This paper’s theoretical implication is that personal health behavior is strongly influenced by other people including parents. Substantive implication is to emphasize that policy maker should formulate policy to increase parent physical activity for increasing adolescence health level.
