한국 기혼 여성의 세대별 성역할 태도 차이에 대한 코호트 효과와 연령 효과 -여성가족패널(KLoWF) 자료를 중심으로

국문 초록

지금까지 진행된 성역할 태도 관련 연구에서 연령이 높은 세대일수록 전통적이며 연령이 낮은 세대일수록 근대적인 성역할 태도를 보인다고 설명하며 세대 간 차이를 지적하였다. 하지만 성역할 태도는 구체적인 내용별로 연령 변화에 따른 차이와 역사적, 문화적 사회 경험을 공유한 코호트 집단별로 다양한 모습을 보일 수 있다. 본 연구는 성역할 태도의 구체적인 내용에 있어서 나이가 들수록 특정 태도를 유지하고 강화되는 연령 효과(Aging effect)가 실재하는지, 코호트 효과(Cohort effect)와 연령 효과(Aging effect)가 혼재되어 나타나는지에 대해 분석해보고자 한다. 분석을 위해 “여성가족패널조사(KLoWF)” 1~7차 자료를 이용하였으며, 성역할 태도를 남성생계부양자 이데올로기, 모성 이데올로기와 관련한 태도로 나누어 살펴본다. 분석 결과 한국 기혼 여성들은 시간이 지남에 따라 모든 세대에서 진보적인 성역할 태도로 변화하는 경향이 나타났다. 세대별로 변화의 기울기에 차이가 나타나 코호트 효과와 연령 효과의 교호작용을 짐작할 수 있다. 그리고 동일 시점의 성역할 태도를 세대별로 나누어 영향 요인을 분석한 결과, 세대별로 유의미한 변수가 다르게 나타났다.

영문 초록

Previous research on gender role attitudes pointed out the difference in gender role attitudes between older and younger generations that older generation tends to be traditional and younger to be nontraditional. However, there is a need for further analysis due to the difference per specific gender role attitudes attributed to the change in age and also detected various aspects per cohort groups with shared social experiences in terms of history and culture. Hence, the purpose of this research is to analyze whether aging effect, which maintains and strengthens particular attitude through aging, is present in generational gap from change of gender role attitudes and how cohort effect and aging effect are manifested when both effects are mixed. For the analysis, 1st to 7th results of KLoWF(Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families) were utilized and gender role attitudes specifically related to male breadwinner ideology and motherhood ideology have been examined. As a result, the gender role attitudes among Korean married women have the tendency to move towards liberal attitude compared to the past and regardless of the generational difference. From the change in slope per generation, interaction between cohort effect and aging effect can be assumed. Furthermore, when affecting factors were analyzed by grouping gender role attitudes of the same period per generation, it has been observed that the significant variables varied per generation.
