한국 대학 교환학생 프로그램의 연계성 문제에 대한 검토

국문 초록

본고에서는 유학 후 중국에 귀국한 대학생들과 유학을 준비하는 대학생들을 대상으로 한국 대학의 유학 프로그램에 대한 기대와 실제의 차이를 조사하여, 중국 대학과 한국 대학 간의 학습의 연계성에 문제가 있다는 점을 밝히고 대안을 마련하였다. 한국의 대학들이 유학 프로그램을 지속적으로 개선하고 있음에도 불구하고, 귀국한 중국인 유학생들이 한국 대학의 교환학생 프로그램에 대한 만족도는 낮은 편이었다. 중국인 학생끼리 공부하고 생활하게 되는 언어 환경이 중국 대학에서와 큰 차이가 없었기 때문이었다. 한국 대학 측에서 문화 체험 프로그램을 중심으로 유학생들의 심리적인 만족도를 높이는 것도 필요하지만, 유학 후 귀국한 중국인 학습자들은 중국 대학에 고학년으로 복귀하면서 요구되는 높은 수준의 커리큘럼을 소화할 만한 충분한 실력 배양이 한국 유학에서 이루어지지 못했다는 인식이 많아, 유학 대학과 파견 대학 간의 학습의 연계성이 문제가 있음을 밝혔다. 이를 개선하기 위해서는 중국 대학 측에서는 한국 대학에 유학생들이 습득해야 할 학습의 내용과 수준을 좀 더 분명하게 전달할 필요가 있고, 한국 대학에서는 유학생들에게 한국어 생활 및 교육 환경을 만들어 한국어 전공생들이 유학 목적을 충분히 달성할 수 있도록 실질적인 도움을 마련해야 할 필요가 있다는 점을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims at not only checking if there are some problems in connection between chinese universities and korean universities, but also making useful alternatives through investigating the differences between anticipation and experience of students who will be and had been in korea as exchange students about exchange student program in korean universities. Although korean universities have kept improving exchange student program for international student, the level of satisfaction of the returned chinese exchange students were low for it. This is caused by the language environment that chinese exchange students were obliged to live and study mainly with chinese students. There was no difference in that chinese students study with korean teachers in classrooms and live with chinese friends in dormitory in both korea and china. It is needed to improve exchange student s psychological satisfaction by some culture experience program. Nevertheless, the returned exchange students reportedly could not assure that they are capable to be back higher grades in which they are demanded to demonstrate their own academic and language ability in classes teaching koreanology in korean. So this study has demonstrated there are some problems in connecting in learning curriculum between sending universities and receiving universities. In order to make up for this problem, it is needed for chinese universities to give precise information about learning contents and level of their students. Also it was emphasized that korean universities should make practical learning environment for exchange students to accomplish their academic goal fully in korea.
