학사경고자의 멘토링 프로그램 참여 경험 의미 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 비교과 프로그램으로 진행된 학사경고자를 위한 멘토링 프로그램에 참여한 대학생 의 참여 경험 의미를 현상학적으로 탐색하기 위한 목적으로 이루어졌다. 연구 대상자는 1회 이상 학사경고를 받은 경험이 있는 대학생 7명으로, 서울소재 K대학에서 진행된 학사경고 멘토링 프 로그램에 참여한 학생들이었다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 연구 대상자를 인터뷰하고 현 상학적 분석 방법 중 Collazzi 6단계 방법을 활용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 유의미한 진 술은 241개였고 이를 토대로 38개의 주제어를 도출하였다. 유의미한 진술과 주제어를 토대로 학 사경고 대학생의 멘토링 프로그램 참여 경험의 의미는 ‘도움’, ‘딴 짓을 못함’, ‘성적 향상’, ‘편안한 공부’, ‘안식처’, ‘새로운 시작’과 같은 11개의 기본 구조로 구분되었다. 학사경고자들은 멘토링 프 로그램을 통해 학업에 대한 자신감과 졸업에의 기대감 등을 갖게 되는 것으로 나타났다. 학사경 고 대학생을 위한 멘토를 선정할 때 동일 전공 내, 동일 학번 학생을 멘토로 선정하는 것이 멘티 의 학습역량 향상과 정서적 안정감 향상에 도움이 되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 학사 경고 학생을 위한 멘토링 프로그램 운영 및 개선에 기초자료로 활용 될 수 있을 것이며 학사경고 학생의 학습관련 이해도를 높이는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate meanings of participating experiences in the mentoring program as a mentee after having academic probation. To accomplish the research objective, the researcher recruited applicants who had participated in the mentoring program. This qualitative study applied the phenomenological analysis method of Colaizzi. The research data was collected through a 1:1 in-depth interview at a comfortable place from 7 mentees. Number of probations ranged between one and two. Mentoring experiences of mentees who received academic probations were expressed by 241 meaningful sentences and clustered into 38 specific themes. 11 general structures were identified such as help, not doing something else, a resting place, new beginning, grade improvement etc. Mentees have been shown to have confidence in their academic achievement and expectations for graduation through a mentoring program. When a mentor is selected for a college student who received an academic probation, selecting a mentor in the same major and the same grade will contribute to improvement of learning ability and emotional stability. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the operation and improvement of the mentoring program for the students having academic probation and it is expected that it will help understand how the students having academic probation study.
