국문 초록

이 연구는 방글라데시 다카 증권 거래소 (DSE)의 상장 기업의 재무성과에 대한 자본 구조의 영향을 분석하였다. 2013 년부터 2017 년까지 DSE의 78 개 샘플 회사의 패널 데이터가 수집되었다. 부채비율, 단기 레버리지비율, 그리고 장기 레버리지비율등을 자본 구조의 결정 요인으로 설정하였으며 ROA, ROE 및 EPS는 수익성 변수로 설정하였다. 거시 경제적 요인 인플레이션, 판매 증가율, 세율 및 회사 규모는 통제 변수로 설정한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 장기 레버리지가 ROE 및 EPS에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그러나 ROA는 자본 구조의 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 유동성 비율은 회사의 성과에 대한 중요하지 않은 예측 변수로 밝혀졌습니다. 이러한 발견은 방글라데시 상장 기업을 고려한 Akhter et al (2016), Anwar (2016) 및 Islam(2016)의 연구와 일치합니다.

영문 초록

The study used secondary data to examine the impact of capital structure on business performance of 78 listed firms of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Panel data of 78 sample companies of DSE has been collected from the year 2013 to 2017 for this study purpose. Debt to equity ratio, short term leverage ratio, long term leverage ratio, liquidity and total debt ratio has been considered as determinants of capital structure and ROA, ROE and EPS has been considered as the factors of profitability. The macroeconomic factors- inflation, sales growth, tax rate and firm size has been considered as control variable. It has been found that long-term leverage has negative impact on ROE and EPS. However, it has also found that ROA does not influenced by capital structure. However, macroeconomic factors- like tax, sales growth and firm size impacts ROA. Besides, it has been found liquidity ratio as a non-significant predictor of firm’s performance. These findings are congruent with the research conducted by Akhter et al (2016), Anwar (2016) and Islam (2016) considering Bangladeshi listed firm. For further research, it has been recommended to increase the sample size to better understand the impact of capital structure on the profitability of Bangladeshi firms
