신 발굴 朝鮮刊本 《博物志》 연구

국문 초록

일본에 소장된 조선 간본 중국고전소설은 대략 《三國志演義》·《世說新語姓彙韻分》·《世說新語補》·《兩山墨談》·《剪燈新話句解》·《剪燈餘話》·《新序》·《博物志》·《酉陽雜俎》·《玉壼氷》·《訓世評話》·《效顰集》 등이 있다. 그중 최근 필자가 새로 발굴한 《博物志》는 正集十卷 續集十卷 2冊本(內閣文庫)과 明弘治十八年都穆後記本을 重刊한 正集十卷 續集十卷 6冊本(東洋文庫)이 있으며, 內閣文庫 소장 正集十卷 續集十卷 2冊本을 확보하여 연구를 진행하였다. 조선간본 《博物志》의 판본은 明 弘治 十八年(1505년) 《贺志同刻本》처럼 39개의 조목으로 나뉘어져 있는 오늘날 일반적으로 통행되는 通行本으로 서지학적 가치가 높은 판본이다. 조선간본 《博物志》는 序文과 목차가 없고 卷末에는 “弘治乙丑春二月工部主事姑蘇都穆記”가 있다. 조선간본 《博物志》는 弘治 乙丑年(1505년) 都穆의 跋文과 宣祖 1年(1568) 刊行된 《攷事撮要》의 기록으로 보아, 1505년 《贺志同刻本》이 중국에서 출판된 이후 곧바로 조선에 유입되었고 1568년 이전에 출판 유통된 것으로 확인된다. 그러나 정확한 出刊年度는 알 수 없다. 그리고 일본 內閣文庫 소장 《博物志》는 正集十卷 續集十卷 2冊本이고, 東洋文庫 소장 《博物志》는 明弘治十八年都穆後記本을 重刊한 正集十卷 續集十卷 6冊本인 점으로 보아 두 판본이 상이한 판본이라는 증거로 삼을 수 있다. 이러한 점은 《贺志同刻本》이 국내에 유입된 후 출판, 유통되었고 조선에서 적어도 2회 이상 출판되었다는 것을 확인해주는 점이다. 그 외 조선간본 《續博物志》 역시 序文이 없고 卷末에 “門人迪功郞眉山薄黃公泰謹跋”과 都穆의 “續博物志後記”가 있으며, “續博物志卷第十 閒化庠生方 衛謹錄”이라 쓰여 있다. 《博物志》가 중국에서 출판된 이후 곧바로 조선에 유입되어 출판되었는데, 이처럼 당시 다양한 중국 서적들이 출판 유통된 것은 당시 문인들의 독서열기와 신지식에 대한 갈망, 선진문명에 대한 동경 등 복합적인 요인이 작용했으리라 생각한다. 이런 다양한 자료를 발굴 연구하는 것은 조선 사회의 출판 및 독서문화를 이해하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

Joseon’s(朝鮮) printed books of Chinese novels housed in Japan include Sanguozhiyanyi(三 國志演義)·Shishuoxinyuxinghuiyunfen(世說新語姓彙韻分)·Shishuoxinyubu(世說新語補)·Yangshanmotan(兩山墨談)·Jiandengxinhuajujie(剪燈新話句解)·Jiandengyuhua(剪燈餘 話)·Xinxu(新序)·Bowuzhi(博物志)·Youyangzazu(酉陽雜俎)·Yuhubing(玉壼氷)· Xunshipinghua(訓世評話)·Xiaopinji(效顰集) and more. There are two book versions of Bowuzhi(博物志)(Neigewenku內閣文庫) in Zhengjishijuan(正集十卷) Xujishijuan(續集十卷) and six book versions(Dongyangwenku東洋文庫) in Zhengjishijuan(正集十卷) Xujishijuan(續 集十卷) that republished the epilogue book(後記本)of Doumu(都穆) in the 18th year of Hongzhi(弘治) in Ming(明) Dynasty. This study conducted research on the two book versions. The woodblock printed book of Joseon’s printed book of Bowuzhi(博物志) is a common version that is generally available today, consisting of 39 articles such as Hezhitongkeben(贺志同刻本) published in the 18th year (1505) of Hongzhi(弘治) in Ming(明) Dynasty. Joseon’s printed book of Bowuzhi has no preface or table of contents. There is the epilogue of Doumu(都穆) in the Yichou(乙丑) year (1505) of Hongzhi(弘治) at the end of the book. Given the epilogue of Doumu(都穆) in the Yichou(乙丑) year (1505) of Hongzhi(弘治) and the records of Kaoshicuoyao(攷事撮要) published in the first year (1568) of King Seonjo’s reign, Joseon’s printed book of Bowuzhi(博物志) followed the immediate introduction of Hezhitongkeben(贺志同刻本) published in China in 1505 into Joseon and was published and distributed before 1568. There are two book versions of Bowuzhi(博物志) in Zhengjishijuan(正集十卷) Xujishijuan(續集十卷) at the Japanese Neigewenku(內閣文庫) and six book versions in Zhengjishijuan(正集十卷) Xujishijuan(續集十卷) that republished the epilogue book(後記本)of Doumu(都穆) in the 18th year of Hongzhi(弘治) in Ming(明) Dynasty at the Dongyangwenku(東洋文庫), which is evidence showing that they are different woodblock printed books. This confirms that Hezhitongkeben(贺志同刻本) was introduced, published, and distributed in Joseon and was published at least twice in the country. Joseon’s printed book of XuBowuzhi(續博物志) has no preface, either. There are Huanggongtai’s(黃公泰) postscript and Doumu’s(都穆) postscript at the end of the book. Bowuzhi(博物志) was introduced and published in Joseon right after its publication in China. The publication and distribution of various Chinese books inn those days was attributed to complex factors including literary figures’ enthusiasm for reading and yearning for new knowledge and their desire for advanced civilization. The excavation and research of such diverse materials will contribute to the understanding of the publication and reading culture of the Joseon society.
