국문 초록

본 연구는 18세기 유물과 기물을 통해 당시 은제 차도구에 대해 살펴보았는데 목적이 있다. 18세기의 차문화는 경제발전과 차 세금 경감, 사회적 분위기에 영향을 받아 더욱 인기를 얻었다. 각 시기의 예술사조는 은기에 반영되었는데 이는 당 시기의 미학적 표현을 담은 하나의 예술품이기도 했다. 연구에서 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 은제 차도구 중 가장 많이 제작되었던 것은 티 포트, 티 캐니스터, 플랫웨어 순이었고 은제 찻잔은 열전도성에 있어 실사용이 불가하여 이를 대신해 자기가 쓰인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 은제 차도구는 유행에 따라 소멸과 재창조를 거듭하였고 18세기 후반에는 기술과 기계화의 발달로 보다 견고하고 저렴한 은제 차도구가 생산되었다. 셋째, 은제 차도구는 차와 커피 등의 뜨거운 음료의 유행으로 수요가 늘어났고 특히 차 세금 감면과 은제차도구의 대중성이 맞물리며 보다 널리 쓰일 수 있었던 것으로 파악되었다.

영문 초록

This study examined the tea silverware from relics in the 18th century. The tea culture became enjoyable owing to economic development, taste for fermented tea, tea tax reduction, and social atmosphere of discourse in the 18th century. The artistic style of each period was reflected in the tea silverware, which contained artworks with aesthetic expressions of the time. The results of this study are shown as follows. First the most frequently produced tools were in the order of tea pots, tea canisters and flatware. It turned out that porcelain cups are used because silver cups were unavailable due to thermal conductivity. Second, tea silverware was decimated and recreated according to the fashion and advances in technology and mechanization led to sturdier and more affordable tools produce in the late 18th century. Thirds, it appeared that tea silverware was in demand for hot drinks such as tea and coffee and the popularity of the silverware and the tea tax reduction in 1784 have combined to spread tea culture more widely in the 18th century.
