새로 발굴된 고소설 연구사와 자료 활용 방안

국문 초록

이 글은 2000년 대 이후 학계에 새롭게 소개된 영웅소설 현황을 소개하고 활용 방안을 살펴보는데 목적을 두었다. 이 글에 소개한 작품은 일곱 작품이다. 이에 해당하는 작품으로는 <운수지>, <유장옥전>, <장태문전>, <장관기사>, <백운전>, <우부인전>, <장칠선전>이다. 필자는 이들 작품에 대한 서지적 정보와 작품의 특징을 최초 연구자의 견해를 바탕으로 소개하였다. 그리고 이들 작품의 이후 연구 현황과 그 문제점을 소개하였다. 이어서 새롭게 소개된 영웅소설들의 문학성을 개괄한 다음 구체적인 활용방안을 제언하는 것으로 마무리 지었다. 필자가 보기에 이들 작품의 문학성은 그리 높지 않았다. 다만 우리 고소설의 창작 관습과 전통을 잘 따르고 있으면서도 새롭게 변화하는 시대적 특징을 반영하고자 하는 흔적이 엿보인다고 보았다. 그래서 이들 작품은 우리 고소설사의 자장 안에서 함께 다루어야 할 작품들이라 보았다. 그리고 새롭게 발굴된 이 작품들은 국어 교과서나 문학 교과서에 다양한 시각에서 수록될 필요가 있다는 점을 제시하였다. 기존 교과서에서는 판소리계 소설이나 연암 박지원, 김만중 중심의 소설 중심이었다. 그러나 이제는 이러한 편향된 시각에서 벗어나 다양한 시각에서 수용될 필요가 있음을 제시하였다. 동시에 쉬운 단어와 구성으로 각색하여 동화나 중고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 한 읽기 자료로 활용할 것을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This research aims to report the newly introduced heroic novels after the 2000s and explore the way of utilizing it in the academia. Seven works were introduced in this paper. Those are Unsoochi, Youjangok-jeon, Jangtaemun-jeon, Jang Gwan Gi Sa, Baekun-jeon, Ubuin-jeon, Jangchilseon-jeon. The writer introduced these works basic information and characteristics based on the first researcher s opinion. Present status of these works studies and the points in dispute were introduced on this paper. Also, the writer summed up the qualities of literature on the newly introduced heroic novels and proposed the concret application plan in conclusion. Literature qualities of these works didn t rate that high with the writer s viewpoint. But they followed the tradition and the conventions to write previous old novels and newly reflected the changing characteristics of the times. Therefore these can be regarded as works that need to be addressed together in the history of old novels. The writer suggested the necessity of being included in the Korean and literature textbook with various viewpoints. The existing textbook focused on the novel of Pansori or Park Ji won and Kim Man Joong s novels. It needs to accept these new novels breaking from biased point of view. It suggests that we have to utilize the dramatized works with easy words and structures as children s story or reading materials for the middle and high school students.
