장자의 무위(無爲)를 실천한 유아교사의 경험 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 장자의 무위를 실천한 유아교사들의 경험을 살펴보고자 면담을 실시하였다. 이를 위해 연구 참여교사 3인과 2017년 6월에 2회의 집단면담을 실시하였으며, 2018년 2월에는 1회의 개인 면담을 진행하였다. 그 결과 유아교사들이 실천한 무위의 경험은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지시하지 않음으로써 유아가 자발적으로 하게 하였으며 둘째, 교사가 미리 많은 것들을 해주 지 않음으로써 유아 스스로 할 기회를 주었고 셋째, 기준을 가지고 유아를 보지 않음으로써 유아들의 다양한 모습이 발현되게 하였다. 또 넷째, 교사가 직접적으로 이끌지 않음으로써 유아의 있는 그대로를 따라 갔다고 하였다. 한편, 유아교사들은 무위를 실천하며 기존의 교사 역할을 행하지 않음으로써 유아교사가 더 많은 것을 행할 수밖에 없게 만드는 구조를 인식하였 다고 하였다. 이러한 연구결과는, 유아교사의 교사역할에서 무위적 역할에 대한 재조명을 요청하며, 교사가 교육신념에 따라 교육할 수 있는 유연한 유아교육의 구조체계 마련이 필요함을 제안한다. 그리고 이론과 실제가 병행하는 유아교사교육의 필요성을 함의한다. 본 연구는 장자의 무위를 실천한 유아교사들의 경험을 살펴봄으로써 유아교육현장에서 무위의 접목 가능성을 모색하고, 유아교사의 무위적 역할이라는 새로운 방향을 제시한다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to study the experiences of early childhood teachers who practiced Wuwei in Chuang-tzu. For research purposes, two group interviews were conducted in June 2017 with three teachers participating in the study, and one private interview was held in February 2018. As a result, the early childhood teachers said that they practiced Wuwei as follows. First, teachers did not instruct the children to voluntarily participate. Second, teachers did not do anything in advance for the children to do for themselves. Third, teachers did not try to judge the children based on the teacher s criteria so that each child could be revealed in various ways. Fourth, teachers were not led by teachers in order to respect their children as they are. On the other hand, teachers recognized the structure that allowed early childhood teachers to do more because they practiced Wuwei and did not act as teachers. The results of this study call for a re-examination of Wuwei in the teacher role of early childhood teachers, and suggest that a flexible early childhood education system should be in place for teachers to educate themselves according to their educational beliefs. In addition, the results of this study imply the necessity of early childhood teacher education in parallel with theory and practice. This study is meaningful in that it explores the possibility of grafting Wuwei in the field of early childhood education and suggests a new direction of Wuwei role of early childhood teacher by examining the experience of early childhood teacher who practiced Wuwei of Chuang-tzu.
