동화책을 활용한 초등학생의 장애인식 및 태도 개선 프로그램 개발

국문 초록

[연구목적] 본 연구의 목적은 아동의 장애인식 및 장애수용태도를 높이기 위해 초등 학교 저학년 학생들을 대상으로 한 장애인식 향상 프로그램을 개발하는 것에 있다. [연구방법] 장애인식 및 장애수용태도 향상 프로그램은 Irwin과 Baker가 제안한 ‘구조이해하기’에 기반 하였으며, 연구대상은 초등학교 2학년 비장애학생을 대상으로 총 5주 동안 실시되었다. 연구 설계는 실험집단과 통제집단으로 나뉘어 각각 23명의 비장애 학생들이 참여하였으며, 사전사후 t-test를 통해 효과성을 확인하였다. [연구결과] 실험집단의 경우, 장애인식과 장애수용태도에서 사전․사후 변화량에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 동화를 활용한 장애인식 개선 프로그램이 아동들에게 적절하게 활용될 수 있음을 확인한 것이다. [결 론] 동화를 활용한 문학적 수업을 통해 아동들은 장애인에 대한 잘못된 고정관념을 크게 개선할 수 있고, 행동적 측면인 장애수용태도에 있어서도 학교생활, 개인생활, 사회생활 전반에 걸쳐 향상될 수 있다

영문 초록

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to create and conduct a class activity using fairy tales related to disability for lower grade students in order to see how much it affects the students‘ disability awareness and acceptance attitude of disability. Methods : The development of disability awareness program is based on the Understanding Structure proposed by Irwin and Baker. The disability awareness program was conducted for grade 2 students without disability for a total of five weeks. To examine the effects of the program, 23 students without disability participated in the experimental group and the control group respectively. Statistical analysis was performed by pre-post t-test and inter-group homogeneity test. Results : As a result of the experimental group, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the pre and post disability awareness and attitude of acceptancy. Conclusion : Such result shows that literature classes using fairy tales can surely improve the inaccurate stereotyping of the disabled and acceptance attitude of people with disability can also be actively improved throughout one’s personal and social life
