돈황출토 지론문헌 ≷대승오문십지실상론 (大乘五門十地實相論)≸의 기초적 연구 * －법상(法上) 찬 ≷십지론의소≸와의 관련성을 중심으로

국문 초록

본고는 돈황출토 지론문헌 ≷대승오문십지실상론≸을 특히 ≷십지론의소≸와의 관계를 중심으로 고찰하였다. 고찰 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) ≷십지실상론≸은 법상 찬 ≷십지론의소≸와 상응하는 구절을 가지고 있으며, 각각의 구절은 지론학파의 특징적인 교설과 관련된 것이다. 또한 다른 문헌에 유사한 내용이 보인다고 하더라도, 자구 단계에서 상응하는 것은 오직 두 문헌 뿐이었다. 2) 이렇게 보았을 때 두 문헌이 동일한 텍스트의 다른 부분으로 볼 수 있는 가능성이 생긴다. 비록 두 문헌의 제목이 다르고 사본의 서사 상태가 다르다고 하더라도 당시 여러 번의 필사 과정에서 문헌의 제목이 변경되는 경우가 있기 때문에 내용상으로두 문헌이 긴밀한 연관관계에 있다는 것은 의심의 여지가 없다. 물론 두 문헌을 동일한 텍스트로 확정할 수 있는 외적 근거는 존재하지 않기 때문에, 본고에서는 ≷십 지실상론≸을 ‘법상계’ 텍스트, 혹은 ≷십지론의소≸의 이본(異本)으로 잠정하였다. 3) 두 문헌이 모두 법상의 사상을 담고 있다는 전제에서 보면 ≷십지실상론≸에 나타난 심식설과 연기설 등은 ≷십지론의소≸의 현존 부분에 명확하게 밝혀지지 않은 내용을 담고 있다는 점은 주목해야 한다. 예를 들어 ≷십지실상론≸은 제7식과 근본무명을 연결시키고, 체집(體集)과 상집(相集)을 논하면서 상집에 유위연집과 무위연집을 포함시켜 삼종연집의 구조를 제시하고 있다. 따라서 ≷십지실상론≸은 ≷십지론의소≸의 내용을 좀 더 구체화시켜주는 논의들을 담고 있는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 결론적으로 ≷십지실상론≸은 법상의 교설을 담고 있으며, 나아가 ≷십지론의소≸의 사상을 보다 구체화시키고 있다고 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

This paper aims to examine the philological and ideological features of a fragmentary Dunhuang manuscript BD3443 entitled Dachengwumenshidi– shixianglun ( 大乘五門十地實相論 ), a commentary on the Daśabhūmikasūtra-śāstra. The result of this research can be summarized as follows: 1) As an early Dilun text, BD3443 shares the exact same passages with the Shidilun-yishu ( 十地論義疏 ), a Dunhuang manuscript which preserves small portion of a larger commentary on the Daśabhūmikasūtra-śāstra. Since Shidilun-yishu was told to be written by Fashang ( 法上 , 490-580), a renowned monk of the Dilun School, the author of BD3443 can be the same person, or even the two manuscripts can be the parts of a full-length text. 2) Though there is no external clues for confirming the two texts to be the same text, there are rich amount of internal evidences showing these two are closely related. Therefore, I presumed that these texts was made under the ‘group’ of Fashang, if not written by Fashang himself. 3) From the premise that both documents contain Fashang s thoughts, it should be noted that the theory of mind and the theory of pratītya-samutpāda shown in BD3443 identifies doctrinal explanations that are not explicitly described in the existing part of Shidilun-yishu. That is, for the mind theory, BD3443 links the seventh consciousness with the fundamental ignorance ( 根本無明 ), while the pratītya-samutpāda theory of BD3443 discusses the essence and phenomena, showing the structure of three kinds of pratītya-samutpāda which are the very original doctrines of the Dilun School. Thus, BD3443 can be seen as containing discussions that further refine the content of Shidilun-yishu. In conclusion, the BD3443 represents the doctrinal understanding of Fashang in a more elaborated and systematized form than that of Shidilun-yishu.
