영문 초록

This study compares five similar stories between Kalīlah wa Dimnah and Korean folktales in the aspects of plots and narrative patterns, motifs, tale elements, subjects and teachings. The original text of Kalīlah wa Dimnah is Panchatantra, and the original narrative of the five Korean folktales is Panchatantra, so they have many similar points in literary elements. There are, however, important differences that took place in the process of transmission and acceptance. It is worthy of note that two Korean folktales coincide with Kalīlah wa Dimnah rather than Panchatantra in main motifs and tale elements, which may suppose that the direct literary exchanges existed between Arabia and Korea in the past.
