국문 초록

에스라-느헤미야서에는 세 개의 기도문이 나타난다. 이것들은 에스라의 기도(스 9:6-15), 느헤미야의 기도(느 1:5-11a), 레위인들의 기도(느 9:6-37)이다. 이러한 기도문들은 각각 다양한 특징들을 가지고 있으며, 각각의 위치에서 나름대로 특별한 역할을 하고 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 각 기도문들의 언어와 구문론(syntax)과 구조를 분석하여 각 기도문의 특징과 역할을 파악하고, 나아가 이 세 기도문을 서로 비교하여 그들 사이의 연관성과 독특성을 살피고자 한다. 이렇게 함으로써 우리는 포로기 이후의 문서에 나타난 기도문들의 특징을 어느 정도 알 수 있을 것이다. 에스라의 기도는 귀환공동체가 당면한 혼합결혼의 문제에 초점을 맞추는데, 이러한 문제를 지적하기 위해 신명기 율법이 인용된다(신 7:1a, 3b∂, 3bß, 23:7). 그리고 에스라의 기도는 기도의 중요한 요소 중의 하나인 간구가 나타나지 않으며, 기도보다는 설교의 성격을 띤다. 한마디로 에스라의 기도를 통해 사람들은 마음에 감동을 받고 이방인 아내와 자녀들을 버리기로 결심한다. 이런 점에서 에스라의 기도는 백성들의 심금을 울린 영적인 기도라고 할 수 있다. 느헤미야의 기도는 전형적인 기도의 형식을 가진 기도문으로 하나님 찬양 → 죄의 고백 → 하나님께 간구의 순으로 전개된다. 그리고 이 기도는 느헤미야를 모세와 동일시함으로써 모세의 권위와 능력을 느헤미야가 계승하고 있음을 보여준다. 특히‘오늘 종이 형통하여 이 사람 앞에서 은혜를 입게 하소서’라는 간구는 이 기도문이 왕과의 만남을 준비하는 준비기도의 성격을 가졌음을 말한다. 레위인들의 기도는 다양한 전승들과 다섯 개의 신의 자비문구들을 통해 하나님의 끊임없는 은혜와 이스라엘의 끊임없는 범죄를 비교하는 동시에 하나님의 은혜가 현재 귀환공동체에 임한 어려움을 해결하는 유일한 수단임을 강조한다. 결국 이러한 강조로 말미암아 귀환 공동체는 하나님께 충성을 서약하는 인을 친다. 이런 점에서 레위인들의 기도는 백성들의 결단을 이끈 결단의 기도라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

There appear three prayers in the book of Ezra-Nehemiah: Ezra’s prayer, Nehemiah’s prayer, and Levites’ prayer. These prayers have their own specific characteristics and play important roles in each place. In order to investigate their characteristics and roles, I will analyze the languages, the syntax, and the structures of each prayer and compare the prayers each other. First, Ezra’s prayer(Ezra 9:6-15) emphasizes the sin(עָוֹן, vv. 6, 7, 10, 13, 14) of Israel community, mentioning that Israelites have been deep in guilt from the days of their ancestors to this day. In particular, it quotes Deuteronomic laws(Deut. 7:1a, 3ba, 3bß; 23:7) in order to indicate the problems of the mixed marriages in the returning community. Furthermore, it plays a role as a sermon in the present position, in that it advised the members of the community who got married with the foreign women to send away their wives and children. Second, Nehemiah’s prayer(Neh. 1:5-11a) has a typical form of a prayer, like Israelites’praise of God → Israelites’ confession of sins → God’s mercies for them. In particular, this prayer emphasizes a word, “servant”(בֶעֶך, vv. 6a, 6b, 7, 8, 10, 11a, 11b, 11c) and identifies Nehemiah with Moses, ‘the Lord’s servant.’ This expects that God shall give to Nehemiah the same graces which God gave to Moses. Only Nehemiah’s solicitation, “give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man”(v. 11), shows that according to Neh. 2, his prayer is a prayer preparing the meeting with the king. Third, Levites’ prayer(Neh. 9:6-37) emphasizes God’s mercies (רחם), mentioning God’s graces and Israelites’sins with many traditions and five divine mercy formulas(vv. 17, 19, 27, 28, 31) in the first unit(vv. 6-31). And in the second unit(vv. 32-37), the prayer hopes that his mercies appear to the present returning community who have been slaves
