전자출판산업 발전 방안에 관한 연구 : 책문화생태계 관점을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 책문화생태계의 이론적 배경과 우리나라 전자출판산업의 발전 과정 및 관련 정책을 살펴보고, 전자출판산업 발전 방안을 제언하고자 한다. 연구 결과 첫째, 저술 측면에서는 콘텐츠의 다양성 확보가 필요하며 이를 위해서는 창작자 보호와 저작권 강화가 필요하다. 둘째, 제작 측면에서는 전자책 생산의 효율화와 함께 생산자 중심이 아닌 이용자 및 독자 중심의 콘텐츠 생산 방식으로 변화해야 한다. 전자책의 특성을 살려가며 종이책의 장점도 전자책에 수용하는 방안을 연구해야 한다. 셋째, 유통 측면에서는 독자 친화적인 유통 방식이 개발되어야하며 유통 인프라를 구축하고 전자책 발간 현황 및 리뷰를 홍보하는 채널도 강화되어야 한다. 넷째, 소비 측면에서는 전자책에 대한 사회적 인식 변화가 필요하며, 소비의 투명성을 확보해야 한다. 결국 책문화생태계 관점에서 지향하는 바는 전자책이 종이책과 배타적이지 않고 긍정적으로 상호 연결되면서 전자출판산업뿐만 아니라 전체 출판산업의 규모가 성장하는 것이다.

영문 초록

The study looked at the attempted to investigate the theoretical background of the Publishing & Reading Network Ecosystem, the developmental process of the electronic publishing industry in Korea and its related policy and suggested the scheme for development of the future electronic publishing industry. As a result of investigation, the following conclusion were drawn: First, there is a need to secure the diversity of contents in terms of writing and to reinforce creators and their copyrights for its purpose. Second, there is a need to produce electronic books efficiently in terms of production and change the mode of contents production from the producer-centered to the user- and reader-centered. And there is a need to study the scheme for incorporating the advantage of the paper book into the electronic book while taking advantage of the characteristic of the electronic book. Third, there is a need to develop the reader-friendly distribution mode in terms of distribution and to construct the distribution infrastructure and reinforce the publicity channel for helping find out the electronic book. Fourth, there is a need to make a shift in social perception of the electronic book in terms of consumption and to secure the transparency of consumption. At length, the orientation of the electronic book industry from a perspective of the Publishing & Reading Network Ecosystem is that the electronic book is not exclusive to the paper book but positively interconnected with it, which leads to the growth of the size of the overall publishing industry as well as the electronic publishing industry.
