영문 초록

In the 16th century, when the Wars of the Roses between Lancaster and York family was ended in 1485 and Elizabeth gained her position as the queen of England, England was a small country with the population of 5 millions. However, there were very important and crucial movements that influenced to the economical aspects, political backgrounds, characteristics or habits of English people, and so on.. Especially, one of them must be noticed remarkably, which was called as the Revival of Learning, that is to say, “Renaissance” or “Rebirth”. The various movements on the basis of Renaissance had one common tendency the humanism. This tendency made a human being get a motive to believe idea himself or herself personally. This idea was likely to mean that each person was more important than other groups. With respect to the above, William Shakespeare could play a role as a drama writer and have desires actively. According to the remarks of Sir charles Oman who is a historian, the period of William Shakespeare or Renaissance in England was not the imaginary Golden Age but the Golden Age to meet the future which was coming. In other words, stopping the long-timed pessimistic wave and beginning the optimistic wave, it was a good time to be born as a human being with the strong attack, the wide new world, and the superiority. While the rapid change made human beings have an unstable feeling, of course, there were fruitful meanings. Thus, human beings wanted to get a new interpretation between their lives and themselves. Consequently. William Shakespeare was the only person who would be fixed in this age.
