동아시아고대사분쟁에 대응하는 한국사회 역사관의 분열

국문 초록

최근에 역사왜곡문제가 정치경제적인 이익과 맞물리면서 서로 양보할 수 없는 국제정치의 주제가 되어가고 있다. 특히 동아시아지역은 이 역사왜곡문제로 역내 국가 간에 긴장된 갈등과 대치의 정치관계가 형성되고 있다. 따라서 한국은 단일한 목소리로 주변국들(주로 중국과 일본)에 대해서 그들의 잘못된 역사인식을 교정시키고, 이를 토대로 한국의 정당한 주권이익을 방어해야할 필요가 있는 상황에 놓여있다. 그러나 놀랍게도 한목소리로 한국의 역사적 입장을 국제사회에 내세워야할 이 때에 한국사회는 역사에 대한 인식이 4그룹으로 분열되어 있어 효율적인 대처를 하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 한국사회의 역사인식은 크게는 민족주의와 세계시민주의 세계관으로 분열되어 있으며, 동시에 같은 민족주의 내부에서도 좌파와 우파로, 세계시민주의 역시 좌파와 우파의 시각으로 나눠져 있는 상황이다. 첫째로 민족주의 우파는 자유시장경제질서와 영웅사관에 입각해서 단일혈통에 입각한 한민족의 생존과 번영의 도모를 목표로 하고 있다. 둘째로 민족주의 좌파는 민족주의 우파와 같은 한민족 정체성 유지라는 목적의식을 갖고 있지만, 보다 민중주의 계급적 시각으로 역사를 바라보고 있다. 셋째로 세계시민주의 우파는 지구화시대의 흐름을 타고, 반민족주의적인 다문화주의를 추구하면서도 자유시장경제주의적인 시각을 기반으로 역사를 해석하고 있다. 반면에 세계시민주의 좌파는 반민족주의와 다문화세계관을 추구하지만, 반시장경제주의와 사회평등사상이 그들의 역사인식과 서술에 반영되어 있다. 이 논문은 이러한 4그룹의 시각이 동아시아 고대사분쟁에서 어떤 담론들로 분열되어 한국사회 내부에서 갈등을 유발하고 있는지를 분석하고 있다.

영문 초록

Currently, the problem of history distortion has become the uncompromising subject of international politics because it is interlinked with politico-economic interest. In particular, in East Asia region, a strained and confronting political relation is being formed among regional countries due to the history distortional issues. Therefore South Korea must defend its legitimate national interest based on correcting the wrong historical recognition of the regional countries (mainly China and Japan) with one voice. However surprisingly even though South Korea effectively has to cope with it, Korean society is now divided into 4 groups and has failed to deal with it. The historical recognition of Korean society is roughly nationalism and cosmopolitanism and at the same time, in the nationalism, there are a right wing group and a left wing group. Cosmopolitanism is split into the two groups of right and left ideology as well. Firstly, the right wing group of nationalism being based on free market system and the hero view of history aims at the prosperity of one ethnic purity. Secondly, the leftist nationalism contains Marxist view on history. Thirdly, the rightists of cosmopolitanism surfing the trend of globalization pursue multicultural perspective and capitalist idea. On the other hand, finally the left wing society of cosmopolitanism is against globalized capitalism but interpret the world history with social equality idea. This article analyzes how the historical views of these 4 actors have caused the divisional dispute of Korean society in the discourse of East Asian history.
