성인의 구강건강정보이해능력과 구강건강행동 간의 관련성

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국 성인의 일반적 특성, 구강건강정보이해능력, 구강건강행동 수준을 파악하고, 구강건강정보이해능력과 구강건강행동간의 관련성을 규명하여 향후 일반 성인들이 구강건강정보를 보다 쉽게 이해하고 활용할 수 있는 자료개발과 성인의 올바른 구강건강행동을 위한 구강보건교육 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 서울지역 거주 만 18세 이상 성인 207명을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문과 1:1면접조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 구강건강정보이해능력과 구강건강행동 간에는 양의 상관관계가 있었다(r=0.427, p<.001). 구강건강행동 관련 요인을 파악하기 위한 다중회귀분석 결과 주관적 구강건강상태, 치과방문시기, 구강건강지식 수준, 구강건강정보이해능력 수준이 관련 요인인 것으로 나타났다(p<.001). 이상의 연구결과를 고려할 때, 구강건강정보이해능력의 관련요인을 바탕으로 연령이 높고, 경제적 수준이 낮으며, 낮은 학력을 가진 취약 집단의 구강건강정보이해능력 수준을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요하겠다. 또한, 구강건강행동 향상을 위해 대상자의 구강건강정보이해능력 수준을 고려한 구강건강증진 프로그램 개발 및 구강보건교육이 이루어져야 하겠다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between oral health literacy and oral health behaviors of adults in Korea. The subjects were 207 adults living in the city of Seoul. Adults, over the age of 18, were selected by convenience sampling and interviewed. There were statistically significant positive correlations between oral health literacy and oral health behaviors (r=0.427, p<.001). It found out that the self-reported oral health status, frequency of dental clinic visits, oral health knowledge score and oral health literacy have effect on oral health behaviors. The explanatory strength of general characteristics and the oral health literacy on oral health behaviors was 34.2%. The findings suggest that efforts to improve oral health behaviors should consider oral health literacy as an important factor. Moreover, the effective intervention and education programs are necessary to enhance adult s oral health literacy.
