국제결혼 여성이민자 및 남편의 가족생활 적응 연구 - 경기지역을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 국제결혼가족의 해체가 증가하는 상황에서 국제결혼 여성이민자 및 남편이 가족생활에서 겪는 스트레스를 중심으로 가족생활 적응 실태를 파악하고, 적응에 영향을 미치는 요인이 무엇인지 규명하며, 가족생활 적응을 지원할 수 있는 방안을 제안하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이런 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구는 경기도가족여성연구원이 2006년 경기도 국제결혼가족을 대상으로 수집한 자료 중에 425명의 부부 자료를 이용하였다. 분석결과에 의하면, 국제결혼 여성이민자는 경제적 문제보다 배우자, 친부모, 시부모, 자녀문제 등에서 겪는 스트레스 수준이 높은 반면에 남편은 경제적 문제를 제외하면 나머지 가족생활에서 겪는 스트레스가 낮아 차이를 보이고 있다. 가족생활 적응 회귀분석에 의하면, 결혼유형은 부부 모두에게 비슷하게 영향을 미치고 있었지만, 부부싸움 빈도는 여성이민자에게 긍정적 효과가 있는 반면 남성에게는 부정적인 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 남편의 정보 차이와 자녀 여부, 본국과 현재의 생활수준 차이 변수는 국제결혼 여성이민자의 가족생활 적응에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 즉 남편의 정보가 결혼 전과 후 사이에 차이가 작을수록 가족생활 적응 수준이 높았고, 현재 부부 사이에 자녀가 없는 경우 가족생활 적응 수준이 낮았고, 그리고 본국과 비교하여 현재 생활수준이 개선된 여성이민자의 경우 가족생활 적응 수준이 높았다. 반면에 부부의 연령 차이는 남편의 가족생활 적응에 유의미한 영향을 미친 반면, 여성이민자의 적응에는 유의미하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 분석결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 국제결혼부부의 가족생활 적응 향상에 기여할 수 있는 몇 가지 방안을 제안하였다. 첫 번째 방안은 국제결혼 여성이민자가 가족생활 적응을 높이기 위해서는 남편 및 가족과의 원활한 대화가 필요하기 때문에 한국어 능력 향상 교육을 위해 한국에 입국 시점에서 입교 한국어 교육을 실시하며, 주말에는 남편도 참여할 수 있도록 한다. 두 번째는 남편의 정보가 과장되지 않도록 홍보하는 동시에 중개업체의 결혼 중개 후 사후 서비스 제공을 의무화시키는 것이다. 세 번째는 국제결혼 여성이민자가 안정되고 건강한 상황에서 자녀를 임신하고 출산할 수 있도록 ‘산모 도우미’를 지원하는 과정에서 본국의 어머니 혹은 자매 등을 활용할 수 있도록 개선하며, 끝으로 국제결혼을 희망하는 한국 남성을 대상으로 자신의 연령과 상황에 적합한 배우자 선정이 행복한 결혼생활을 위한 최고의 조건임을 인식시킬 수 있는 교육 및 홍보를 강화하는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this study are to examine the adjustment on family lives experienced by international married woman migrants and their husbands to analyze what factors have effects on their adjustment on family lives, and to suggest some ways improving the adjustment on family lives. In order to accomplish those purposes, this study used the data composing of 425 international marriage couples that the Geyonggido Family and Women s Research Institute surveyed international married families in 20067. According to data analysis, international married woman immigrant tended to experience higher stress from her husband, parents, law-in parents, children problems rather than family economic problems. On the other hand, her husband tend to do higher stress from family economic one. This study also found some important facts from the regression on family lives adjustment measured by the stresses that the international married woman immigrant and her husband were experiencing in their everyday lives such as family economic problem, spouse, parents problems. That is, the frequency of spouse quarrel and marriage-type have significant effects on both international marriage woman immigrant and her husband s adjustment on family lives. However, the variables of husband s false information, child birth, and the change of her standard of living in her homeland and in Korea have significant effects on woman immigrant s adjustment on family lives. On the other hand, the age difference between husband and wife just has a significant effect on the husband s family stress. Given those findings, this study suggested some ways to improve the adjustment on family lives of international married women migrant and her husband. The first one is to improve the Korean ability of the international married woman immigrant because it can help her to reduce the family conflict through enough conversation among her families. It is also necessary for her to participate in a mandatory Korean Language education from her early immigration with her husband together. The second one is to consolidate the penalty to prevent the exaggeration of the husband s information. The third one is to support the international married woman immigrant to get pregnant and give birth in a stable and healthy condition. Finally, it is necessary to emphasize education and publicity for Korean men wishing for a international marriage that instead of looking for young women, finding the appropriate mate for their age and condition is the way to build a happy marriage.
