음주폐해 예방과 감소를 위한 국제적 동향과 시사점

국문 초록

세계보건기구를 비롯한 국제기구와 선진 외국에서 시행되고 있는 음주폐해 예방과 감소를 위한 최근의 노력을 기술하려는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 선진국가들의 국가알코올 전략, WHO의 음주폐해 예방과 감소를 위한 지역전략(서태평양지역 전략)과 EU의 노력을 소개하고 이런 노력들이 한국의 알코올 규제정책 수립에 가지는 의미를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This review is to describe recent efforts by international organizations and selected counties to reduce harms associated with alcohol use and to discuss their implications for development of Korean national alcohol strategy. International organizations under study include Commission of European Communities and World Health Organization: both headquarter and Western Pacific Regional Office. Common characteristics of a national alcohol strategy were summarized among selected counties including Australia, Canada, Ireland, Japan, Thailand and United Kingdom. Korean national alcohol strategy should be developed in near future to deal effectively with increasing burdens derived from harmful use of alcohol. Suggestions and lessons from previous efforts should be taken in developing the national alcohol strategy with respect to process and contents.
