영문 초록

This paper is organized in the following fashion: (1) Introduction, (2) Historical background of the collective farming system, (3) Characteristics of the People’s Commune, (4) Property ownership and production-distribution system, (5) Realized results of the collective farming system, (6) Conclusion. Results of this study are followings: First, the effects of the collective farming system may be regarded favouroble to some extent from the political viewpoint. But the economic effects were opposite. Second, this system has economically caused the decrease of productivity in the agricultural sector, a less development in the industrial sector. And the system has become a great obstacle to promoting an economic progress. Third, it is considered that the future of the Chinese economy depends on the decisive readjustment of the existing economic system and the strengthening of cooperations with industrialized countries. Finally, by abolition of the People’s Commune at the end of the year 1984, it is expected that the future prospects of the Chinese economy will be bright.
