《삼국유사》에 구현된 일연의 교육사상

국문 초록

이 논문에서 연구자는 일연의 《삼국유사》를 한 권의 교육고전으로 보고, 그 속에 구현된 일연의 교육사상을 탐구하고자 하였다. 일연의 시대는 내부적으로는 무신집권기였고, 대외적으로는 장기간의 몽고 전란의 시대여서 국토는 황폐했고, 백성들의 마음은 절망감으로 가득 차있는 상황이었다. 전란이 끝나고 일연은 임금의 스승격인 국사(國師)의 지위에 올랐으며, 이 무렵《삼국유사》를 집필했다. 일연이 《삼국유사》를 쓴 의도 혹은 전략은 《삼국유사》를 통하여 이 땅이 불교적 이상세계인 불국토이며, 이 땅의 민중들이 이상적 인간인 불보살임을 ‘인식’시키는 것이었고, 백성들의 마음을 긍정적으로 ‘변화’시키는 것이었다. 이러한 그의 의도는 교육학의 관점에서 볼 때 교육적 의도라 이해할 수 있다. 《삼국유사》는 그 의도를 달성하기 위 한 고안된 텍스트이자 미디어다. 일연의 교육사상은 한 마디로 불국토론이라 할 수 있으며, 《삼국유사》의 각 편은 불국토론과 밀접한 연관성을 맺고 있다. 구체적으로 보면, 〈기이〉편에서는 시조와 왕들에 대해 이야기하고 있는데, 이들은 불국토의 설계자이자 책임자들이다.〈흥법〉편은 불국토 건설을 위해 이 땅에 진리의 가르침인 불교를 들여온 사람들에 대해서 이야기하고 있다. 〈탑상〉편에서는 부처의 가시적 상징인 탑과 불상을 통해 이 땅이 곧 불국토임을 이야기하고 있다. 〈의해〉편에서는 불국토를 이루기 위해 애썼던 스승들에 관해 서술하고 있고, 〈감통〉편에서는 중생들이 불국토에 들어가기 위한 방법을 이야기하고 있다. 《삼국유사》의 끝부분인 〈피은〉편에서는 숨어 드러나지 않았으나 불국토 건설에 공이 있는 스승들에 대해 이야기하고 있고, 〈효선〉편에서는 부모님을 물질로 모시는 것을 넘어 불국토의 세계로 이끄는 것이 진정한 효라는 것을 말하고 있다. 일연은 이와 같이 다양한 측면에서 다양한 방식으로 불국토론을 독자들에게 전달, 해설하고 있는데, 이 전달과 해설이 교육적 실천이자 교육사상의 의미를 지닌다 할 수 있다. 일연의 《삼국유사》은 플라톤의 이상국가론인 《국가》에 비견할 수 있는 교육고전이며, 한국의 교육사상 연구에서 간과할 수 없는 저술이다.

영문 초록

In this paper, I thought of the history of the Three Kingdoms as an educational classic and wanted to explore the ideas of the Japanese education system. Since the Japanese colonial era was an era of internal atheism and a long time of Mongolian warfare, the nation was devastated and the people s hearts were filled with despair. After the war, the story of the war ended, he was in the position of the king s teacher, who wrote the Three Kingdoms. The intention or strategy of the three countries is to recognize through the history of the Three Kingdoms that the land is a Buddhist ideal world, and that the people of this land are the ideal people. The whole idea is read from an educational point of view. The Three Kingdoms of Japan is a text and media to achieve its purpose. Each side is closely connected to the Japanese debate. Specifically, Gui is talking about Zizo and the King, who are the subjects of the Japanese debate. Heungkuk s book talks about the people who brought Buddhism, the teachings of truth to the land for the construction of Bulguksa.On the other side of the pagoda, the visible symbol of fire and death, the pagodas and Buddha statues, tell us that this is Bulguksa.The documentary talks about teachers and others who worked hard to complete the French national territory, while in the book, the book tells how Chinese people can enter Bulguksa. Even though Dapi, the back part of the Samguk Yusa, did not show up secretly, it is talking about teachers who worked on the construction of Bulguksa, which is beyond serving their parents with materials. In such diverse ways, the association communicates and explains the French debate to its readers in various ways, which is educational practice and meaning of educational thought. The Three Kingdoms is an educational classic comparable to Plato s idealism and a book that cannot be overlooked in Korean educational thought studies.
