영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of appearance of EURO currency on the internal and external area of the EU. The introduction of the EURO will likely be the most influential event affecting the international economic environment. The appearance of EURO will bring its economic and political integration of the intra euro markets, and eventually, maintain the dominant position in the world economic markets. After the introduction of the EURO, the elimination of transaction costs and hedging costs of foreign exchange will increase the amount of internal trade in the EU. Price transparency in goods, services, capital, labor markets will accelerate the unification of the markets. Also, this new economic situation in the EU will enhance competition among firms. The euro making pricing comparisons of all products sold inside the euro area instantaneous will boost competition and cause prices to merge at levels likely lower than existed in the pre-euro days. Eventually, the introduction of the euro is stronger European growth and in the long-run, the region’s demand for imports and exports will likely increase. On the other hand, the introduction of EURO at the external area of the EU will deceases the volume of exports and imports against EU. Therefore, the countries outside EU will lose the competitive power in the EU. Finally, the introduction of EURO is expected to decrease the international dependency on the dollar as a Currency of settlement. Therefore, we must recognize the importance of the EURO in the future.
