조선시대 지방문학의 문헌분석을 통한 문화관광 콘텐츠의 활용 방안 －전라남도 완도군의 완도(체도)를 중심으로

국문 초록

이 논문은 전라남도 완도군 완도(체도)의 문헌분석을 통해 문화관광 콘텐츠의 활용 방안을 제시한 것이다. 완도군은 다도해해상국립공원에 속해 여러 문화관광 명소를 보유하고 있지만 대부분 현대에 개발된 곳이 주를 이룬다. 조선시대 문헌 에는 완도의 문화사를 파악할 수 있는 다양한 형태의 기록이 남아 전한다. 이에 본고에서는 조선시대 지방문학의 기록을 통한 문헌분석을 시도하여 완도의 새로운 문화관광 콘텐츠를 발굴하고자 하였다. 이에 따른 결과는 크게 세 가지로 요약된다. 첫째, 완도에는 상왕봉(象王峰)과 관음암(觀音庵) 등의 불교 유적이 많이 남아 있다. 이들은 모두 상왕봉을 향하는 등산로에 위치해 완도의 역사를 공유하는 명승으로 활용할 수 있다. 둘째, 완도는 황장목(黃腸木)을 생산하는 대표적인 봉산으로 기능했다. 현재 완도에는 소나무 군락지가 사라진 상황으로 이를 복원할 필요성이 요구된다. 셋째, 정규영(鄭圭榮) 의 ｢완도기행｣은 완도 유람을 연작시로 읊은 작품이다. 시문의 분석을 통해 완도의 명소를 회복할 수 있고 이를 문화관광 콘텐츠로 활용할 수 있다. 조선시대 완도군은 도서 지역으로 분류되면서 주로 유배지 등으로 인식되었고 공도정책으로 인해 역사 속 문헌기록은 부족하다는 시각이 지배적이었다. 그러나 문헌분석을 통해 조선시대 이목을 끌었던 명승이 다수 존재했음이 드러났고 이를 문화관광 콘텐츠로 활용할 여지가 충분함이 확인되었다. 이상은 완도군이라는 하나의 사례에 불과하지만 전국 어느 곳이든 자료를 어떻게 가공하고 활용하느냐에 성패가 결정된다. 이는 오랜 역사적 사실에 근거하고 있고 자연적 환경에 따른 지역적 특색을 드러낼 수 있어 의미가 깊다.

영문 초록

This paper proposes cultural tourism contents usage plan through systematic literary research of Wando Island, South Jeolla Province. Wando County contains many cultural tourist attractions including the Dadohaehaesang National Park, however the majority of locations are developed during modern times. Much of Wando’s cultural history can be inferred within Joseon Dynasty literature. Accordingly, this paper has, through the analysis of the local literature of the Joseon Dynasty, attempted to discover new cultural tourism contents of Wando. The results are summarized into three broad categories. First, there are many Buddhist historical sites remaining in Wando such as Sangwang-bong and Gwan-eum-am. Secondly, Wando served as a representative private mountain that produced Yellow-hearted Pine. Currently, the pine groves of Wando have disappeared, and it is necessary to restore the habitat. Third, Kyu-young Jeong’s Wando Journey is a series of poems recited of a Wando Journey. Through the analysis of the poem, it is possible to restore the famous locations of Wando and utilize them as cultural tourism contents. In the Joseon Dynasty, Wando County was classified as an Island Region, and was mainly recognized as an exile; and the Gongdo Policy led to a view that historical records were lacking. However, it has been revealed through literary analysis that there were many scenic spots that attracted the attention of the Joseon Dynasty, and it has been confirmed that there is potential to utilize this as cultural tourism contents. The above is just the specific example of Wando, but the success or failure depends on how data is processed and utilized wherever that may be in the country. This is based on long historical facts and is meaningful because it can reveal the regional characteristics of the natural environment.
