국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 경기도 다문화 밀집지역 초등 6학년생의 다문화 수용성과 그들의 또래네트워크와의 관계를 탐색하는 것이다. 연구대상은 경기도 다문화 밀집지역 총 3개 초등학교 6학년 12학급의 학생 264명이었고, 연구방법은 설문조사로 다문화 수용성과 또래네트워크를 측정하고 다층 p2 모형을 통해 그 관계를 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 다문화학생 40%대 학급에서는 다문화 수용성의 요인인 개방성과 인식이 높아질수록, 40%대와 30%대 학급에서는 다문화 수용성의 요인인 공감이 낮아질수록 더 많은 또래를 친한 친구로 지목할 가능성이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화학생 40%대 학급에서는 다문화 수용성의 요인인 공감이 높아질수록, 20%대 학급에서는 다문화 수용성의 요인인 관계성이 높아질수록, 인식은 낮아질수록 더 많은 또래들로부터 친한 친구로 지목 받을 가능성이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 또래 네트워크는 성별 유유상종 효과, 10%대 학급에서는 다문화학생 유유상종 효과를 보여주었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine relationships between the elementary sixth graders’ multicultural acceptance and peer networks by the ratio of multicultural students in the classroom. For this, we used multilevel p2 models with data from the sixth graders (N=264) among 12 classrooms in three elementary schools in highly-concentrated multicultural neighborhoods in Gyeonggi province. The results showed that first, in classes composed 40% multicultural students, the higher the openness and awareness, the more peer nomination as close friends. However, in the 40% and 30% classrooms, the lower the empathy, the more peer nomination as close friends. Second, in the 40% classrooms, the higher the empathy, the more self nomination by others as close friends. In addition, in the 20% classrooms, the higher the multicultural relationship, the more self nomination by others as close friends. Third, we found that the peer networks of multicultural students showed cultural homophily in the 10% classrooms, while all showed gender homophily.
