공공기관의 여성 시간선택제 근로자에 대한 일과 가정의 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 여성의 경제활동참여율을 높이고 여성이중노동에 대한 부담을 줄이고자 실시한 시간선택제 일자리가 미치는 영향과 효과가 어떠한지를 살펴보기 위하여 여성 시간선택제 근로자의 일과 가정에서의 경험의 의미와 본질을 이해하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구참여자는 공공기관에서 6개월 이상 시간선택제로 근무하고 있는 기혼여성 5명으로 선정하였으며 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하고 Giorgi의 현상학을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 연구참여자들의 경험은 3개의 대주제와 7개의 소주제로 나타났다. 첫 번째 대주제는 시간선택제 근로이전의 삶과 선택까지의 과정으로 1. 일과 양육을 병행하기 어려운 환경, 2. 시간선택제 근로자가 되기로 선택함의 소주제로 범주화되었으며, 두 번째 대주제는 시간선택제 근로자가 됨으로써 직장과 가정에서의 삶이 변화함으로 3. 전일제 근로와는 다른 직장 안에서 시간선택제 근로의 경험, 4. 아이와 함께 하는 삶을 살 수 있게 됨, 5. 가정 내 성별분업의 심화를 경험함, 6. 나를 위한 시간을 갖게 됨으로 구분되었다. 마지막으로 세 번째 대주제는 앞으로의 시간선택제 지속에 대해 생각해봄으로 7. 여성이 원하는 자신의 일에 대한 미래를 포함하였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 추후 시간선택제의 발전과 개선, 확대를 위한 효과적인 체계를 구축하는 데 필요한 근거를 제공하기 위한 함의를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to understand the essence and meaning of the experience on work and family life of part-time working women at the public sectors. As to understand the experience, it is possible to identify the effect of the part-time work which is expanded for increasing economic participation of women and reducing the double burden of childcare and full-time work. Interviews were conducted with 5 married woman part-time workers who had more than 6 months’ experience at the public sectors. The data were analyzed using Giorgi’s Phenomenological analysis. The results were categorized as 3 main themes and 7 sub themes. First main theme was life before part-time working and the decision making process of being part-time worker. It included two sub themes - 1. having difficulties of childcare as a full-time worker, 2. choosing to be a part-time worker. Second main theme was a change of work and family life, which was divided into four sub themes - 3. experiencing different working environment with full-time work’s, 4. having the life to be with my child, 5. ongoing conflict of gender division between husband and wife, 6. having time for myself. Third main theme was considering wether to keep working as part-timer. Sub theme for it was 7. the future what women want. Finding from this study have some implications of providing basis for establishing effective system to improve and expand part-time employment.
