국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 지역별 경로당 참여 노인의 건강상태와 우울 수준을 비교하여 지역별 차이를 이해하고자 하는데 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 902명의 경로당 참여 노인으로 대도시 경로당 참여 노인 270명, 중소 도시 경로당 참여 노인 310명, 농촌지역 경로당 참여 노인 331명으로 구성되었다. 대도시 지역 경로당 참여 노인의 경우 다른 지역 노인에 비해 나이가 많고, 사별한 경우가 많다. 분석 결과에 의하면 대도시 지역 경로당 참여 노인은 다른 지역 경로당 참여 노인에 비해 건강상태는 열악한 반면, 우울 수준은 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구자는 경로당 참여 노인의 건강관리 프로그램을 고안하는 경우 지역별 차이에 주목할 것을 제안하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to compare health status and depression of the elderly in senior center by region, in order to increase understanding regional differences. The subjects of this study were 902 older adults in senior centers in communities (270 from metropolitan areas, 301 from medium sized and small city areas, and 331 from rural areas). Older adults in metropolitan areas were statistically significantly older and widowed compared with those in other areas. According to the analysis, the elderly in metropolitan area showed worse health status than those in medium size city and rural area and lower level of depressive symptom than those in medium size city and rural area. Based on the reuslts the author suggested that nurses should consider regional difference when designing health promotion program for the elderly in senior center.
